Right? Probably cuz they write songs together in a room. A surprising amount of bands jam but then totally disconnect from the music once it’s in the studio. HIM adds cool stuff in the studio like extra guitar overdubs and voice modulations but it’s still the baseline great song that once stripped down on stage is still 🔥🔥

@futurepriestess2010 You see, I know where you are coming from. Sad thing is though that Ville said he has never worked so hard as on SWLITAP album. For me it feels as though their work has changed energetically since DL so that it doesn´t resonate with me as their first 4 albums. It just doesn´t touch the same places inside me, doesn´t vibrate on the same lenght as my inner soul. It is not surprising that a fave song from SW is "Disarm me" since Ville wrote it ages ago.

Razorblade Romance, Greatest Lovesongs vol. 666 and the EPs This is only the beginning and 666 ways to love:prologue are the best albums from HIM. Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights has still a dark mood and ville's voice was still enorm beautiful, but with Love Metal something started to become slowly worse. Ville's voice changed and the guitar changed and burton had more influence (but I like the former keybordplayer more) and the american influence started. They lost the spooky sound.

I miss this HIM... they're new stuff is not great... Love Metal was and will always be their best album... because you could tell they put everything they had into Love Metal, with Screamworks... it feels like they didn't put any effort into it at all...
