The "worthiness enchantment" wasnt an enchantment. It was a curse that he bound to Mjolnir using his own Divine Seal as all-father. It was also the same seal that he used to keep hela out of this dimension, but he couldnt control hela with just his seal so he tied that curse to his life force(norse curses followed something similar to the law of equivalent exchange. Small curses can be enforced with just the god or sorcerer's own magic while more powerful spells require runes or seals and the most powerful curses cant be cast by humans because the cost would be their life)

In my head-canon, Odin and Thanos fought once before, sometime before the events of “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Thanos tried to steal the Tesseract from Asgard by leading an assault on its borders. However, all they encountered was Odin, who defeated Thanos in single combat and banished him and his troops to the region of space where we saw them at the beginning of “The Avengers” and in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The reason they couldn’t return was because Odin either cast an enchantment that prevented Thanos from physically returning to Asgard or wiped all memory of Asgard from Thanos’ mind, as well as those of his foot soldiers.

What I hated from MCUs Odin, out of everything already wrong, is that they implied Odin lost his eye during the fight in Jotunheim. That's just stupid. Odin, in the mythos, sought knowledge and power beyond all things. He went to the well of Mimisbrunnr, and offered his eye and flung himself onto his Gungnir Spear as a sacrifice to the giant Mimir, so that Odin could take a single drink. This changes him forever. Even with Illusions and shapeshifting he can't mask the missing eye or the scar he suffered, but was made obscenely powerful. MCUs version makes him look like he'd give anything for a simple battle. Which, of course, Odin would do. But to have this be his only true moment of sacrifice puts him in the role of an old warmonger. Odin in the mythology was so much more nuanced than that. I believe they should've done the right thing, and not made any changes to his eye in the cutscenes at all. And, to also not explain how he lost it. Those who are curious will have to turn to the source material, and would make the Odin in the movie much more mysterious
