Hey Odin, turn your base into a down draft table to hold down the foam and thin wood etc, should also help with fume extraction. Basicaly, drill out the center of your grid, then build a box on the bottom of it, seal it with wood glue and make a hole big enough for a shop vacuum hose.

I am having a hard time finding preset test grids for different materials for this disease. Would you be willing to share your settings that you've used I'd really appreciate it. 🙂 Thanks for sharing all your amazing cosplay, and making knowledge I really appreciate you.

Looks good, one thing that comes to mind is armour pieces like shoulder plates with designs embossed on them i.e. Warhammer. You could maybe also do a two colour,two layer cut so the colour beneath is revealed in the design.

Hi Odin, diode lasers has some limitations, for instance the wave Leigh reflects white and bright colors and for transparencies the light just past through, that's why the white foam didn't burn all the way through and the black cut all

Cool beans! Lasers are so much fun. A word of major caution, though. Make very sure you don't laser anything made of PVC! It will create cyanide gas and that will be very bad. If it doesn't kill you, it will eat up all of the electronics of your laser as well.

Ooh. That'd be a nifty way to get woodgrain or scale texture on a piece. Or Celtic knotwork. So how do those burned areas look when they're painted?

The lower power cuts look really good, they should paint fine. The bottom is not always perfect flat when deep. But 30% at 4000mm should make a really, REALLY good wood grain.

I have not, and I will. I know acrylic works, it is one of the better plastics to cut.

I would definitely say invest or build a fumextractor that way you don't have to wear mask as much and your shop doesn't smell like burnt leathery bacon
