Hey Sean'sCrafts I think it would be a little bit too easy, because Zemo's mask is a ski cap that you could pull over the face and is made of either wool/polyester/cotton fabric

I have to admit that I'm totally unfamiliar with this character, but that is a really striking mask design. Plus, I know other folks are saying it, but your hand-painting always impresses!

For the texture you could use antislip fabric. It has de little raised dots. So, you could cover the mask with that fabric. Its a bit more of effort but easier than hand make the dots

Going from lightest colour to darkest always works best, in screen printing we call it trapping to go back over with a black outline. Great job looks phenomenal!

Great work now for Zemo. Some speculation on the build, use this same mold/pattern for a base and add some fabric over the shell. Tbh that’s how it seems to be in the show, the mold in the mask even folds so realistically it could be foam or thin plastic

I don't usually make suggestions like the one I'm about to make, but it'd be a lot easier to just buy a blank mask from Michael's, Joann, etc. and take it from there. The Flag Smashers masks aren't skin tight so you could get away with it. That said, you learn a lot more by making something rather than buying it, even in failure.

So why not just give the whole mask a quick coat of white or grey primer before starting to paint the red? Wouldn't that be much faster and prep the surface better?

I noticed that the paint over the putty had a sheen to it. At first I thought the paint was still damp in that area, until you ran your hand over it. I wonder if a primer would prevent that from happening?

It's caused the texture of the foam from sanding. I have seen that sheen with other fillers as well. I really should have wetted the full mask with a sprayer, and rubbed Gap Filla over the whole thing. I was rushing myself.

Not that I have found. Contact Cement is pretty unique with what it does. Two alternatives I can think of are: super glue (still has fumes) Tyges.co.uk just released a new type of glue stick for a hot glue gun that is made for EVA foam. I have not tried it yet, but that is promising.

Layers, the glue between helps. Denser foams. Layer poster board between the foam layers.
