Not gonna lie, Odin inspires me to keep my inner kid alive! I love how much fun he's having with being creative, that's what it should be about. I wish everyone was able and willing to find that one thing to be as passionate about as Odin is about propmaking. The world would be a better place that way. Naw- no worries! Just keep you first suit simpler, and know that you can make another, better one again. My cosplays and suits have improved over the years! I found a low poly Godzilla model for use in games, I was able to import it into Armorsmith Designer- which scales it to fit me, and gives me a pattern for cutting foam!

This series made me realize some of what the Kaiju suit actors had to go through. In this case, "the monster stance." It's also giving me some great ideas for cosplay. I've never been to a Con before, and I haven't decided what my first Cosplay should be. I'm a big heavy guy.

I have seen a picture of four different Godzilla actors out of costume, but in the "monster stance", the easiest way to descibe it was they all varied from Frankenstien's monster to a sea-sick Igor! I think the Hesisi actor was nearly leaning over! About being a big guy and cosplay: The best part about cosplay is nearly everybody you interact with won't care about your body size, just how well you pulled off the costume. Trolls will be trolls, it's best to ignore them unless you wanna play their games. So just pick a character that you like, and go for it. If you are like me, and don't want to cosplay a 'fit' character because I am not 'fit'- I totally get that too, if it's just not what you are going for- then you can try a mash up. I wouldn't cosplay Starlord because that guy is fit. BUT Starlord/Andy mash up? Wear the Starlord coat with a Mouse Rat shirt? Yep, I did that! Cosplay should be fun, remember you are paying to do it!

@@OdinMakes Yeah, we have to give those guys credit. It sounds both fun and exhausting to pull off. And you make a fair point. I'm definitely not fit, but I have a very bushy beard with a tinge of red (it's grown out more since the Pandemic), and I could probably work with that. I could try Pirates, Vikings, or Medieval fantasy characters. If I really want to dedicate the years to let my beard grow, I could probably pull off Stoic the Vast from How to Train your Dragon (my Gerard Butler impersonation needs work though). Or even the dwarves from the Hobbit (despite being 6 feet tall). Who knows? I don't yet have plans to visit a Con in the foreseeable future, so I have all the time in the world to come up with something.

I kept getting confused at the appearance of the tail on the toy you have, and the amount of other details on it because the toy I had a kid didn't have any of that. It was mostly a smooth Mechagodzilla, so I did some searching. Turns out mine was from the Hesei period, while the one you have is the Showa period. I think I have seen the movie that shows the Showa one, but the strongest memory of Mechagodzilla I have is of the toy I had. It's interesting the differences present in the various eras of various creators.

Just to say you are going to make the tail removable. So you could just put a wooden dowel through the triangles at the back of the shorts and the tail. Just make the triangles thicker or add extra supports to them. Have you considered my guyver units in there storage case idea?
