Finally a pattern that has the right cheek pieces! I have been attempting this for months, including trying to make my own pattern. Excited to try yours.
@art_man-jh9vk3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!
@OdinMakes3 жыл бұрын
Yes they are! The pattern I included is the original pattern still. I did modify the pieces a little, but basically if you print them 5% larger or so, you will probably get it. Also, the angle for the cheek bend was 90° on the flat lower panel, and the bevel on the arc was about 2mm in at the start, and about 5mm in on the bottom. Mark out that line on top of your cheek piece, measured from the cut edge, and sand that changing bevel. The flat back panel was on a 45° from the other cheek panel. I cut the bevel on my bandsaw, and then sanded the curved panel to match. It took me 3 attempts of cutting out the pieces, and modifications made as I went along. so something like 3.5 to 4.5 attempts... After sanding the cheeks 'flat' in the face plate panel- the sides had a angle that would let the cheeks fit. I still needed to trim the top edge of the curved cheek for the best fit. That was really the longest part of the build, getting the cheeks right.

I was reading that too. I found the artist that makes the paint, and I found a quart for $400, so that maths about right. It also has lots of extra toxic chemicals in it (like all awesome paints do!) so spraying it needs way more safety than I have in my shop.
