Is this any good around trees? Specifically rows of growing xmas trees? Not sure how much force it needs to push back around an object.

O D good video now know dr told me the timer will work with the QH 05 so people must talk with someone who owns one God Bless PaK

Oh, that's good! There's a couple videos that show the adaptation so looks like they tweaked it to fit.

Many thanks for your honest assessment of the DR trimmer which I've been considering for the last couple of years. My back tells me YES, my brain not so much. Alternative is finding some kids to do the same with hand held trimmers. While I do have flatter fence lines, I wonder if you or any of your followers have an opinion on how well it would work with foot high Timothy grass. Certainly other opinions or suggestions for other equipment would also be great. Again, great work O.D. Hope all is well in your world!

It does seem to do fine in high stuff. I'll try and post a video using it on some pretty high stuff that I need to cut soon.

@@ODLife That would be great. Look forward to a clip. I did learn that there MAY be DR dealers within 50 miles of my plot which would make delivery and maintenance costs potentially more reasonable. I'll look into them today and report back.

You might like to try "Pat's" quick hitch. I started with what u have as a quick hitch & I had more trouble then I needed. I could not install half of my 3pt equipment with fighting to put them on. Since I got the "Pat's" ALL of my equipment is almost a joy to put on. "O"! I am 75 yr's old & at my life is a TON easier now.

If I had it to do over again, I probably would go with Pat's!

nice 3 point hitch weed wacker no more walking around with a hand held weed wacker wich that makes it alot easier plus can mow and weed wacking at same time

You want to sale it ? I borrowed my Dad's . My land is uneven , I just keep it the same height. I like it. You can adjust the tilt by using your turn buckles on your lift arms. You can also level it up the other way by using your top link. And it would be easier if you unhooked your quick hitch while using this.
@cody4813 жыл бұрын
ALL quick hitches are obsolete the first time you use an A frame quick hitch. Instead of missing by 1/4" you can miss by 6" If your attachments legs sink in the dirt it doesn't matter. And AFTER picking up your attachments you reach back from the seat and put in 1 pin

How does this thing do for ditch banks or around a fish pond? I'm trying to figure out something to simplify trimming around my pond
@ODLife Жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan it will reach down some. I've converted to using a Stihl adjustable head hedge trimmer for doing my ditch now. Part of the Kombi system so can add the extension too and swap to limb pruner as well. Able to use it for way more applications too.

It would be nice if it could be used with a front pto/3 point hitch, or hydraulicly driven and loader mounted, so that there was a mower on the back.

does the line hit the fence post? like damage post? thanks
@ODLife Жыл бұрын
No, as long as line is shorter than the guard. For my yard, I'm not a fan of this trimmer.

I have been looking at this thing for the last two years as I have quite a bit of fence line, but it doesn't have very good reviews. I've never been overly interested in the quality of DR products either so I figured this wouldn't be much better. From what it looks like in your video it doesn't do a terrible job, but not necessarily a good job either.
@ODLife2 жыл бұрын
Yeah flatter ground and long straight runs and I would recommend .

George, how do you like it?
@georgesmith77736 жыл бұрын
you know, I wish I had more hours on it. I never did find the .225 line locally. my only two gripes are that it doesn't fold inside the tractor wheel base - like a sickle bar does. and it doesn't float - like a mid-mount or FEL. oh, and shipping - you don't ship a 200 pound cardboard box from Vermont to Texas. it just doesn't arrive intact.

Looks lik a pain in the ass to use . It needs an adjustable skid plate or wheel directly under the center so you can't bury it and scalp the grass
