Stuff gets lost down the end of the garden all the time. But have you ever misplaced an ancient Roman bathhouse? Staunton manor in Sommerset is said to hold a hidden Roman Villa. However, a young archaeology student thinks the records are all wrong, and that something altogether different lurks just below the earth. Join Tony and the team as they uncover a rare Roman bathing pool.

You figure with Mick being the one who had the site listed in the first place, he could ask to extend the dig.

Half way thru. I think there WAS a small Roman bathouse there at one time. I also think that at some point, a former owner found the remains of it, and decided Why not! I think this Roman enthusiast went around England, collecting interesting bits of different bath house tiles, and nice bits of pottery. Oh, the fun! Then, on top of the original bath house, this family created a lovely little FAKE bath house folly. Scattering the bits of tile and pottery about for ambience. Of course, I could be wrong.

Hoestly, from my sperspective, myself, being old (59 [and proud of it]), and semi-educated (just 1 degree [although, God does'nt limit Himself to 360 degrees! HA!]), one simply must, at all expense, listen to the older dude, David. He's just been around! +

You wouldn't have coins around a bath house. There is no merchants, roads, or other living quarters in that area where coins would potentially fall.

I suspect it was a way to keep costs down, get participation from both the landowners and professionals, and add a bit of deadline energy. I don’t like it either, but if it helped them continue making episodes, I can’t complain.
