I particularly love archeology of industrial sites. While Time Team has covered a few, I cannot recall seeing any before from the Roman era. Also, a young(er) Carenza! 😍

If you're interested in this kind of ancient iron smelting you may love youtube channel "Primitive Technology" (there are now many copycats). It's not archaeology but active demonstrations of prehistoric techniques for making tools, buildings and artefacts from scratch, including some on smelting iron using bacterial ore found on-site. Although there is significant care and research behind it, the focus is pure craft rather than to explain historical facts.

Would be interesting to know. Iirc lots of pictures ate taken in general to help document the sight properly. So the pictures he's taken are most likely out there, part of the all the information that was compiled for each dig. I could be wrong though.

I would expect that the photographs are filed with the other official reports about the archeological dig. Here in Canada, these would be filed with a unit of the Provincial Government; I have no idea who regulates archeology in the United Kingdom.

if you watch the series regularly you will have noticed that these -Time Team has only 3 days- is a -spiel - for the Episodes. when you red the credits at the end, you also can see that all the experts in their specific fields have full time jobs. And most of those diggings for the show are done on weekends. when -we- have our days off. it is than the local archaeological society who does a lot of prep work. In the beginning it was thought TV will make about 10 or 12 episodes. since the Professor (Mick) was doing something similar already. BUT it was to -technical-. That is when they got hold of Tony Robinson, who in his own right was a well known actor and Kommentator. And even author of children's books. he was supposed to give those episode a more - easy - touch. So more young people got interested in old stones, pits and walls. well the series lasted for many years. WIKI has the whole story. professor Mick Aston had died. And so had Victor, the man who did all those drawings. Some people have left for New Zealand. And TV thought, the ratings are not THAT good anymore ,do they closed it down. Tony Robinson was made by the late Queen Elizabeth a -SIR- for all his work in his field. In the meantime a new series was revived. Even with many of the old team again . Nice to see themen all graz and older. The ladies of course only becoming more beautiful.... But it did not go to well. the lady main commentator apparently was chosen for her good looks only. and the male commentator had a voice like a snake oil seller. (but he spoke quite normal when out in the field. or just talking).and despite all those new -mod cons, and some of them are really good, it did not have the -pizzass - anymore. I myself was watching 2 episodes only. And decided i will stick with the old episodes... NOW SIR Tonz has joined them once more. with this old spiel -TT has 3 days only-. And i am looking forward to see them. and here also at the end. After 3 days when the TT is finished digging up all those gardens, golf course or parking lots, there are indeed more people to restore the place once more. can you imagine how long it takes to get all those papers, documents, and all the stamps that are needed, from English Heritage, for instance, when TT is digging?

@@bloodyknucklsbeats go to their site, either in Channel 4 or from -Patreon- You have to pay for Patreon.nd on Channel 4 it is also - geoblocking - so i can not watch at all.because i do not live in England. And a silly VPN is no good. It works for 3 days than they have found it out.And it is being blocked once more. So i dicarde it...But there is definitely more on the net. with links and also talks with the experts. Just takes a long time to find it all.

@@John.Flower.Productions Professor Mike Aston, he is digging now on Cloud Nine, RIP, a great man... Apparently the good looking lady did not make the grade. as far as i know now, i haven't seen any -new - episodes - geoblocking- ( I live in Moscow) and - for copyright reasons -... though i will not get me a VPN, they are for the birds...Sir Tony Robinson is back as presenter. Fair enough, a little bit a different set up. DELL Computers, they flog it often enough, but the ads are not intrusive. Best of all though is the - Mickmobile -.Sometimes indeed i did feel sorry for the diggers, it was raining, storming, and they only had that old catering bus.. With Mary - Ann Ochota there was also a new black ( and by no means is this meant it anyway ressistic, i just can't remember his name) Presenter -Commentator. When talking normally he had indeed a good voice. But when talking - on set - his tone changed to that like a snake oil seller. To me a complete turn off. And one of the main reasons i did not watch the new series, the few that were available on youtube. The first few of the old episodes i was watching i was thinking, oh my God, what is Tony Robinson doing. Running around like the Duracell rabbit, flailing arms and often -arguing - with team experts. Until i found out that this bantering was part of the show, is also a part of british life, so i was told anyway. But i also found out that most of it was more or less scripted to be as ist was. And soon i also found out that this - TT has only 3 days - ,there were reasons behind it. And indeed it was never done i n3 days. Not the -before - and - after - the episodes anyway. BUT the series was very successful. And not for nothing Tony Robinson was made - SIR- by the late HTM Elizabeth. And not connected here, there is another absolutely delightful series, -Absolute History-, again apologies for not remembering the names, a lady archaeologist and 2 men. England through the centuries, in authentic costumes and a farm set up. or the episodes about the railways. I do not watch TV since years, not even the news. I rather watch what i find on youtube. And IF there is advertising, so be it, after all i watch the rest for free.

If the harbour was closer to the site in the Roman times, could they not have used the ships or tents as sleeping quarters since they knew it was not worth the effort for building permanent buildings. It was nice to see Carenza Lewis showing off her gorgeous legs which were much better to look at compared to Micks' or Tonys" legs.

I think dowsing is just a way of subconscious verification of the dowsers intuition, even though its been disproven in blind testing, when performed in the field it may actually just be, in a sense, a type of cold reading landscapes and geological indicators… but yeah, it is definitely not reliable in and of itself. In my uneducated opinion.
