Since the pandemic there's just not enough doctors and nurses. Many have retired. It's about the same everywhere. Anyone who is working in the medical field is a true angel. Take one day at a time with your mom and be her advocate. We will keep her in our prayers.

I’m a Respiratory Therapist and trust me, I even agree with you when you say healthcare here sucks!! I myself feel like the providers don’t listen and just wanna pass things off as “it’s in your head” or “it’s nothing serious”…ugh it’s a struggle! Makes me wanna make sure I’m always respectful and be as good as I can to my own patients.

It's always so good hearing from you. I do share your concern about the attitude of the nurses/doctors at hospital. Their reason is, the elderly person has already lived his/her life and are now old so they might as well die, why should they the doctors/nurses waste time on them the elderly, when they could be attending to someone younger. It happens all over I hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, wherever. But don't let that deter you, you only have one mother, take care of her and cherish her for as long as you can. I feel for your Mom. I was a nurse in several hospitals in West Palm Beach in the 90's and rudeness towards patients was rare, and cause for termination. Many of the more recent nursing grads that I work with today have no people skills and seem unable to edit what comes out of their mouth. There is no termination because of the nursing shortage. It is just the way the world is today, sadly.

Yep...the healthcare industry has seen several changes over the last 20+ years and not very many of them are for the better. Nice to know that you're out there advocating on your mom's behalf. Been there.....its like that all over.....if u have siblings u all have to advocate for your mom and let professionals know she has family that are watching and will be there demanding service care and answers. Shewill get treated better

I totally agree with you about our health care! My mom was recently on the hospital for 2 months and dealing with the horrible doctors and incompetent nurses made the situation a million times worse. I hope your mom gets the care she needs soon. You really need to advocate and be pushy to get the proper care. Best wishes❤

You have every right to be concerned with the care your Mom is receiving. My mom has been a registered nurse all my life (she now teaches) and she really cared about her patients and their families. I really admire her because it takes special people to be in the medical profession. There are people in it just for the money and there are truly people who have that gift to be health professionals. I have come across both good and bad and thank goodness I have my Mom to help maneuver through the good and not so good. I know your Mom will find those who truly belong in the profession of caring for others. They are out there--we must go through duds sometimes. I am so glad you got an appointment when you did, sometimes it can be monthS before getting, especially for a neurologist. I don’t have to tell you to be your mom's advocate, but I wanted to mention that women are not taken seriously when they go in for medical care, their pain is downplayed and their symtoms also. Hopefully you have access to her medical test results via online, do not take for granted the doctors' will address everything that needs to be. Not only is there a chance, she may get biased treatment because she is a woman but also because she is older. Some doctors will think without informing you that something does not need to be addressed because of her age. Advocate and make sure she's being heard. Its not a given. Whoosh whoosh whoosh, that is positive healing energy.

My dogs take zesty 11-1 vitamins too for seniors. Been using these for 4 yrs and before I used the 8-1 for younger dogs. They love them.

Health care in this country has deteriorated greatly. It’s become a business period. If you have the money for top tier cars you are treated well, if your health care is middle of the road, forget it. Nice mirror. Great cookies!!

I have the most wonderful hospital in the Northwest of Toronto that I have routine tests at. Everyone is lovely there, smiling, happy and kind. I do hope that the hospital can give your mom a Cancellation MRI and get her seen faster. You are a very good son. Loved your cookies and your food for your 3 day. Mia looks so good. Fly safe 🙏🍀🌠

You forgot to mention that you also have Universal Health Care in Canada and noone gets a bill or dies cause they have no insurance to seek medical care or has to declare medical bankruptcy like they do here in America

Just a thought, do you think that if you called the MRI Department at the Hospital, and asked nicely for them to put your mom on a Cancellation List, it would help? You can say that you have to travel for your job (do not give specifics) and that you worry about her when you are gone. Prayers for your mom 🙏🙏

Thanks for calling attention to the hospitals in South Florida.....doctors in w. palm beach killed my parents because of horrible medical care....were from new york city and i told them to come back to new york but didnt happen.... hoping for the best for your mom....thanks for the updates....your too adorable....consider moving north...we still have human rights here

I just found you. Funny thing is that I have a love/hate relationship with flying. I get extreme anxiety, but I hide it. 😂 it all started from a slight mishap in Guam on a military aircraft. I was in the USAF for 25 yrs and hated to fly. Ha!

When you have another lay over here at DFW there’s an amazing Greek restaurant called Fusion in the Preston Valley shopping center that you have to try. It doesnt look like much but the food is amazing & its not too far from the airport.

People in Florida and some other US states are always proud to say they don’t pay income tax at state level. Taxes help fund social programs as they redistribute wealth so that the “good services” are not only for the ones who can afford them (private care) but for the general population: be willing to pay taxes and invest in one self!

My mum is also trying to get an MRI for a problem she is having. She has been trying to get an appointment for one for 4 weeks. Every time she calls, the office staff give her a run around. Our health care system is broken! I hope your mum gets the care she needs! Take Care! 😎

It seems you had bad luck when it comes to medical care. I, on the other hand, have had great experience with ERs, doctors, nurses, etc. I feel you have been going to the wrong places. There are a few very good ones in south Florida so I encourage you to do some research and you and your mom will be happily surprised. Hope your mom gets well soon and you keep up the good work. I have to say healthcare in Minnesota is much better. I have never had any of those issues with providers or obtaining tests. I am biased as I am a nurse here. I have worked with multiple travel nurses who all have said negative things about the healthcare system in Florida.
