When I was a kid, we made kites out of bamboo and wax paper. We would grind up light bulb glass, mix it with wood glue and apply it to 20-30ft of sting below the kite and have kite fights. When one kite line was cut, all the kids would chase the kite to claim it. Simple times, fun times.

Live in the Boston area my entire life, we also had the same planes. Used to use them for hours and hours. Funny how people are the same everywhere. NICE JOB,. VINNY 🇺🇸

We had those planes too. But I was born in 65. Lol Life was pretty good way back in the day. 👍😀

Yes I remember the airplanes. We would go to the corner grocery store and get them for 5 cents. They were made of a very light balsa type wood. You could color designs on them. I would have mine a long time before it would break. It was a treat to have the 5 cents to go to the store. Could choose candy or the plane. I chose the plane. Thanks for bringing back that memory.

The roof venting is wonderful for anyone that realizes what they are looking at. I am slightly older than you. The glider planes were balsam wood when I was a kid but I saw the transition to Styrofoam. We were very careful because it would be a long time before we had a chance to get another plane. Soon we learned to make kites from newspaper, string and hay baler wire or arrow canes.

I remember buying those airplanes for my kids too! My grandpa would buy them for me as a kid. I loved adding a paperclip taped top the nose to make it land like a lawn dart too!

We use to make paper planes when I was a kid, they actually flew about as well as yours 😊 Then I made them for my son, kept him busy for hours. Excellent video. 👍💕

That's the difference between kids who live in a disposable world, they don't care if something gets ruined or broken because they'll just get another one if they want it replaced. Kids back in our days knew that you'd get one and ya better look like taking care of it or you'll do without.

Anyone interested in these panels, the name is DurOvent, with an O. Duravent with an A will take you to stove pipe parts. I remember the balsa wood airplanes, we had those, they were fun to fly. :)

Kids now think if the plane breaks they can just pitch a fit til someone goes to China mart and get another one. Kids back then were afraid for their toy to break cause it was over when it broke.

Where do you get this? When i looked up Duravent it brought me to stove pipe.I have a shed with metal roofing to insulate

If you look at the panel in the beginning of the video, it says Durovent, with an O. Try that.
