Not only aesthetically beautiful but that large natural light source will save so much electricity. Plus, now that sucker will sleep about 20 volunteers :) edit: Have you considered protecting the edge of the glass? Maybe a wood ring. I can't help but look at it from the side after those considerable winds.

@Chimonger14 жыл бұрын
I LOVE how you did that skylight! How does the weight of that reciprocating rafter structure, with really wetted living roof, stand up to really bad earthquakes? You MIGHT have wanted to use a clear caulk to seal the channel ends of that polycarbonate, or the polycarbonate sealer tape, to prevent ANY moisture getting into them. And, use Sealer screws [have rubber gaskets] to screw down the battins, because screws create micro-water channels from the surface, clear down into the substrate. You won't notice it right away, but over time, that kind of micro leakage can grow algae in the polycarbonate channels, and start rotting the wood framing holding it up.

Kris where the poly is under the round glass overhang you will need to put some kind of silicone or all weather stripping to keep wind, water and snow from coming in. I guess you could use more hose just get bigger hose. It wil be a perfect place for bugs and mice to get in. Great video again. Congratulations on 100k subs.

A ‘ROUND’ roof window is an excellent idea as it is impossible to drop the glass through the window aperture. [which is why old manhole covers were always round, the modern square ones can twist and fall through if you slip while you lift the lid in and out]
@ariebenschop46325 жыл бұрын
The covers are still round, only the bits around it are square to make it easier to lay bricks or such around it. At least where I live
@robg5215 жыл бұрын
True, 👍👍👍🙂.... the Waterboard‘s manholes covers and the main sewer drain access covers are still mostly8 round, the BT telephone pit covers are square and oblong and so are the electric board’s underground Link box covers.
