Id love to have a house like that out in the mountains away from the craziness of the cities. I can build simple shelters but thats way above my skill level. But watching these videos i have learned a few things. These videos are great for people to see how things are done withput the aid of power tools. The projects take longer but are far more appealing to eye and fit in to the environment around them.

My great-grand father n my grand-dad used hand tools just like you, when they built the homes in WA state. My older brother who had a construction business there, one day was talking about the framing n roof tresses of the homes and they had built it to last. They used a lot of 6", 8" and bigger beams for the framing and roof tresses. I guess building log cabins there in the old country of Finland they wanted to be sure the houses lasted for generations. Well 5 almost 6 generations lived there. Only thing I remember really being replaced was porch railings and steps when I was last there. But watching you skillfully build the shelter, took me back to when I would watch as my grand-dad would let me help him sand, stain his rifle gun stocks he would make for hunting rifles, while he would bore out the rifle barrels and machine the trigger, bolt etc. I'd watch the old school master craftsman of making needed things at that time, (era) couldn't be ordered off the internet. I enjoyed your video; only wish you would have narrated it. Told a story of your journey of how you chose the build site, tools you were using. Explaining more the tools and the steps of your build. Just like those old Disney adventure movies, where the characters and animals thought process was narrated. But going to give a 4.5 star rating out of 5. Great job.

I just watched your Wikiup build video. Man, I forgot you were the one to inspire me to do some of this with the grands. I watched every episode of this reciprocal build and I can't wait to watch it all over again. Thanks!

Don, So great to see you celebrate Viking style 😂 - I’m coming to party with you haha!. I’m so proud of you for building again. I hope this time you’ll be able to put in any changes you would have liked to make in the other cabin. Im crazy impressed with your determination & I’m excited to see how this progresses & what a wonderful job you’ve done so far. It’s beautiful. As always sending love you way & snuggles for musen 💕

Great work! How long did the Fire Cabin take to build? The rock work was incredible! 'The rougher the material; the better your carpenter has to be!' Truer words were never spoken. You've proven that.

Thanks Sheila, you are welcome :) Unfortunately its the same build, just edited faster. :/

Thank you :) I have no idea how many hours. Alot of work away from the camera; finding carrying and debranching logs.

@@DonVonGun Well it’s still wonderful to watch, it was such a masterpiece. A truly one of a kind beauty. It will happen one day, of that I’m sure. Stay motivated on the thought of it. Positive thoughts can really change the outcome. We are our own masters of our destinies & hopefully you will make it happen again (if you want to) and thank you, I’d love to join you ; ) 💕

@@DonVonGun Yes, I can imagine! We can all see the work that takes place off camera. I can’t imagine how much effort/work/hours were put into it, but it was a pure piece of you. An extension of you that although is not standing, is forever immortalised on film that you did that, you achieved it and very few people ever could. Don’t take anything away from yourself for the accomplishment you achieved. Much love to you 💕

Incredible craftmanship. I have never seen anyone like you before with so much precision and eye to detail (extraordinary) in your work. I can't say enough of how proud I am to watch you do your work which you do so so well, Awesome job. You should be so proud of yourself because I am.

Don - are you sure you are not a 'Time Traveller' from a couple centuries ago? Amazing skill and knowledge. Laughed really out loud at the celebration segment. Well deserved. Nice to see Musen when he is frisky. Appreciated the one hour video. I wish you, the family and all the friends a Happy Holiday season.
