For the last week I have been making the main doors for the top workshop. while I was looking for inspiration I found the samurai carpenter had made some doors that I really like and decided to go with that design as it incorporated some nice little curved details that suit the building. you can view his video here. • Samurai Workshop Doors
All the wood used was milled on my homemade bandsaw mill and dried under the workshop porch.

I've been watching this channel since he built his house. Then watched over the years the projects he added and what he has done is just amazing in this day and age. I am not related or even know the guy except for his videos, but I feel proud of him for all he has accomplished so far. Good on you Kris. From Canada.

@@KrisHarbour Hi kris, first of all I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Andy...I'm a builder.....I have started watching your video's from the start with my wife and i am so impressed with what you have achieved......i have spent the last 8 years doing 2 house projects which have been a absolute nightmare but then on the flip note elevated us onto the next housing bracket........none of which means anything to me as I look at you and believe you are a rich man.....we have my son 21 and my wife's daughter 17 and 13 and I truly believe I would like to get off of the rat race and make a real difference with planting forests and supplying our family with free electric......how would I contact you privately in order to not allow my private details to be shown publicly? I would love to chat about a possible opportunity I have to buy some land with other members of my family.........ps can I just say the log house could have been the end of any man, you did so well to keep posting and building , the lesser man scraped by nearly giving up watching as it was so painful to see but so necessary also...keep posting and I hope to hear from you..Andy

As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement kzbin.infoUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!

I found it quite funny how you said the hardware was expensive, but the rest of the doors were not - maybe you didn't pay much for the wood, but you put so much value into them yourself! And got the tools and skills to make them - invaluable! As of course did the smith who made the hardware, turning the raw metal into the hinges.

What IS that machine??? Like a giant route, but one that allows you to cut full length door tenons? Wow, what a time saver... At the 31 minute mark my heart dropped as you placed the hinge on the wrong side of the door...but you saw it before any drilling commenced, thank goodness. After making such a stunning door that really would've been a bummer to put the hinges on the wrong side before realizing your mistake. Truly Kris, the end result of your work is nothing short of magnificent; the doors are absolutely gorgeous! From standing trees to milling it up with the mill you built yourself to a stunning set of solid wood doors... You must be so thrilled and deeply satisfied with the results of all your planning and work. I have followed the Samurai Carpenter for a few years now and I'm sure he'd be very proud. Hope he gets to see them to let you know. Your skills are growing with leaps and bounds!

Hey Chris, all I can say is WOW WOW. I have been around for a long time and all I can say is Samurai could not hold a sword to you. Your whole philosophy on life , nature , consumerism and so much more. Just watching you split those shingles was something that so many people would not have taken the time to do and that says so much about you as a person. I could go on and on but I’m sure everyone is on the same page as I am. If I only had the talent in your little finger I would be a happy man. Take care and have a beautiful Christmas. Much love from Canada.

I love the attention to detail on the joinery, I don't know if anyone else feels the same but just seeing it being done, making sure the cuts are just right and not over, the rounding off the edges, top class. I did notice the slope just before you fitted the doors in but with a little adjustment was all you needed, check if water will drain towards the ACO once you've added back some concrete. In the funny side, those doors are making you look small, 😂😂😂
