Hi Beau and Brandy I found that on all outboard engines it is a good habit that when you have finished with it for a few days to shut off the fuel and start it to use the fuel up in the carb, then when you come to use the engine in a few days time you will always start up with fresh fuel in the carb, especially on Two Srokes as the petrol will evaporate and leave the oil in the carb. Here in the UK we are in shut down same as you . Take care stay safe.

100 episodes! You are now way past amateur status. I have been watching since episode 15 I think and I can say your video production is very nearly professional and your sailing skills are way beyond where you started. It must be from Oona's superior supervision. The beauty of having your boat as home-you can go to the store, re-provision and then take your home back to where you were. The floor looks great and glad the dinghy motor is running well. Thank you for another fantastic evening video. Take care, stay well and Beau, remember to tie the dinghy motor off when you put it away (lol). Hugs to all of you (from six feet away).

Foraging is a good was to have good food. When I was young (in my 20's) I caught a crawfish boat out of the keys to the Bahamas. After 20 days we ran out of eggs & bacon, so we went to a rookery. This was about 45 yrs ago, nothing protected. So we took seagulls eggs. Something I learned raising cockatiels is that if you took a couple of eggs for the incubator, they would finish hatching what was left. But if you took all the eggs, they would lay another clutch in a week or so. So when we robbed a seagulls nest, we took them all. Seagulls eggs and spicy Snapper fillets were a great substitute for eggs & bacon. By the way... Seagulls eggs have a pink yoke, but were just as tasty as chicken eggs. There was a lot to forage for on the out islands, some islands had wild goats for milk & meat, but our meat was primarily by-catch in the traps, Yellowtail & Grouper. It's a lot more fun finding it in the wild, than finding it on the store shelves.
@BeauAndBrandy4 жыл бұрын
Just goes to show, if it comes down to it ... WE WILL SURVIVE! We agree, finding it on our own, is way better than finding it in the store! Thanks for watching!

Beautiful diving, some nice sailing, and projects! Perfect way to celebrate your 100th episode! Congratulations! The new floor layout looks fantastic! Carbs scare me... You guys are the "make it happen channel", very impressive. Not sure if that outboard is 2 stroke or 4 but with my 2 strokes I have carb issues and have had success with gum out carb cleaner and spray compressed air in a can for electronics. Usually can get both at Walmart. If you can watch KZbin channels Zoffinger and Key West Kayaking, they catch inshore fish species in kayaks. You could fish the reefs and shallow areas from your dingy with small spinners. Walmart has cheap spinning rods that will do the job. Only eat the smaller fish of each species and you won't have to worry about Ciguettera. Since some countries are stranding or quarantining cruisers right now you might as well live off the land.
@BeauAndBrandy4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for saying!! Those tips are AWESOME! we will have to check out those channels. out fishing more! We have find some canned air here, hopefully they have some. good idea!

Wow, awesome job on the floor. I wouldnt move just to get toilet paper. Seems the whole world is hording TP these days. Heck, we may need to resort to using old T-shirts or pine cones here in the States. So if I see little strips of T-shirt drying on your life lines, I'l know what happened. We have had to cancel our trip to the Bahamas this spring. Maybe the fall will be better. Stay Safe you guys.

Congrats on 100 episodes ! and Kudos for pulling out that plastic garbage out of the ocean ;-) . Not sure where you're at in "realtime" ? but I'll guess you've heard about the Covid 19 virus that's going around the planet ? well for some crazy reason ? people have been panic buying toilet paper of all things ! so when you hit port and go to get supplies , it may be wise to grab a couple extra pkgs of the T.P. to have on board . I looked in the isle at my grocery store today where they are kept , and there's usually 300 or so packages available / not a roll to be seen !!!! stay safe and healthy U-2 .
@BeauAndBrandy4 жыл бұрын
Haha. Yah we sure do wish we were a little more secluded sometimes. Our friends off of SV bacchus actually gifted is some TP when they visited the anchorage we were in 🤣 but we were able to provision before things went “south” 🤪 hope all is well where you are...and it doesn’t get too crazy.
@badcat47074 жыл бұрын
@@BeauAndBrandy / "crazy" is about 3 days away ? right now it's "seriously concerned" ! all international flights to Canada - banned- ( except for a few with citizens retuning home ) all schools , universities & colleges - closed - also all Bars , restaurants , movie theatres closed , Churches - no services : no weddings , funerals , baptisms , day care , nothing ! . 3 Provinces have declared "States of Emergency " at the moment . And here's the BIG one / by Friday night the Canada / US boarder will be closed to almost everyone !! only truckers bringing in food and goods will be allowed to cross and emergency services ( and of course citizens returning home to both sides ) . I'll be 60 next year , and I can't ever remember our boarder being closed from 1 end to the other of our countries ??? I hope you 2 are still in the Caribbean some where's , as it's probably the safest spot to be for the next 2 months or so ?? if you know anyone with a Shortwave Radio you may be able to pick up CBC , Canada and or BBC America ? I'm not sure what the main station is down there ? but worth keeping appraised of the situation for your own safety ... Hi and patting to Oona ;-)
