Off Grid Laundry and Wolves at the Log Cabin

Wolves take down a deer next to the cabin and Cali is very interested in the resulting activity from predators and scavengers. My wife D and I try out the new manual clothes washing machine inside the off grid log sauna.

Find a way to anchor down that machine. The energy expended in rocking it back and forth instead of going into the mechanism is wasted. Need to sort that so more ergonomic. Also get your wife some gloves or her hands will be eaten by the soap. Both of these things could lead to a loss of desire to use the machine over the long term.

What like the most about your videos is the judicious and minimal use of commentary and music when you're out and about working. This allow the actions , natural sounds and silences to speak for them selves. Also it is more relaxing and feels like I am really there with you, out in the wilderness watching and learning. I learned a lot from my grandfather by observing him make things in silence. Many video channels have too much useless commentary and stupid music. As the old adage goes 'actions speak louder than words'.

Everything you said is so true. I can't tell you how many times while watching a movie that I need to keep the remote near just to adjust the volume because of the annoying background music or sounds. I use the word background loosely as its often times so loud you can't hear the dialogue. I enjoy these videos for the same reason you do.

I just can't see it lasting. She'll probably fleece him in a couple of years. He's doing good now with his KZbin channel and she isn't employed anymore. She'll be able to get alimony and go live a normal life at his expense. That's all I see with women nowadays but hopefully she's a unicorn meaning a woman that is almost impossible to find and that she'll stick around for the long haul especially in this environment. While washing, the soap will eventually crack bare hands. Once they crack, it's hard to get them healed especially in winter. Rubber gloves will really help.

Took the words out of my mouth. I had 6 small kids at home when I was 28 and our old washer broke down. Well I had to get the clothes clean and no money for a laundromat. So the big bucket and scrub board came out. Took me all day. My hands were cracked and bleeding at the end and that was just 1 day!! So yes his wife might want to get to-the-elbow-heavy-duty-rubber-gloves. And Sean should tell her we all think she is very pretty and no need to be camera shy.

When I was growing up in the 60's I remember my mother had a washing machine not dissimilar to that except that it had an electric motor to agitate the clothes and an electric heater for the water. It had a roller attachment like your vintage machine but with electric rollers powered by an on/off switch. I like your vintage machine but wonder if the feet should be bolted to the floor to stop it moving when the lever is pumped? Thanks for sharing Shawn and wife, best wishes to you!

That washing cloths brought memories from when I was a young boy. My mom and grandmother washing cloths. I remember how I thought it was so cool to run the ringer for them. When I was young we didn't have a TV and we had an icebox. The ice man would bring a huge block of ice. We had a radio My Aunt had a hand pump in her kitchen for water. Calli was such a star during the whole laundry scene. Actually, the laundry brought back many childhood memories. Although we had a washer and dryer, my maternal grandmother continued with the same type of crank washer, the washboard (that she was so quick and good on and I would ding my knuckles every time), and the wringer. It was definitely back in the time that wash day was Monday (and it took all day), Tuesday was ironing, etc. How different life is now! (It's lovely "meeting" your wife).

I was, kind of late in watching them Where I was with my wife and daughter, it's so wonderful, for me, as I see in your videos, that this place is for Mr. A pity that where we spend Christmas and New Year, it doesn't snow, (srs ... laughs) It's almost not cold either. I went to Mato Grosso, home of my mother-in-law, and then to my father-in-law's farm. A lot of bush, a lot of green, a lot of water, a lot of fish, a lot of hunting, srs ... although here in Brazil, we don't have a hunting season and we can't actually do it. But .... His channel is not for hunting, fishing, or even survival, for me it is one of overcoming and willpower. The Mato Grosso is very large, many mountains, a lot of forest and jungle. in my opinion the best place in Brazil for me. My wife and her family are from there, and soon I will live there Just like the place that Mr, lives is licentious and quiet, so is Mato Grosso. My wife and I love the silence, and most importantly how far away is one farm from the other. I hope you never get discouraged from making your videos. I hope that when my wife's studies are finished here in the interior city of Sao Paulo and I am there, we can also show you how fine it is in Mato Grosso. it's mine, Away from the city all that noise, run ... run. I am shortening myself here, because my parents arrived at my house. But I hope to exchange more details of my home with Mr. Have a nice Sunday afternoon, here 17:28 PM on a beautiful Sunday.

We make a quiche made with 1 cup frozen spinach drained, 4 eggs, 1 small diced onion AND 1/3 RICOTRA CHEESE... dash of salt and pepper and parsley flakes. MIXED WELL AND PUT INTO A 9 INCH PIE SHELL. bake at 350 degrees f. till knife placed in the center comes out clean.... not bubbling .

Eggs are a great vehicle for all kinds of vegetables. Reduces the effect of cholesterol. Am particularly partial to spinach and cream cheese in a rolled omelet. Eggs poached in tomato juice. Broccoli mushroom swiss cheese. frittata. Asparagus topped with poached eggs; the egg yolk almost tastes like cheese sauce. Just about anything you can think of!
