Side Note:
These agility & skills courses/exercises are designed to help develop the fundamental riding skills of clutch, throttle, brake and active balance by the rider.
Precise practice in coordinating these techniques can lead to instinctive/reflexive actions by the rider and allow for more precise control of the motorcycle.
Mastery of these techniques allows the rider to more smoothly transition the bike when cornering as well as being able to react reflexively when encountering unexpected changes in surface traction in off road conditions.
Depending on your skill level, you may want to make the courses larger to feel more comfortable while you develop these skills.
Performing these exercises carries a risk of dropping your motorcycle which may result in damage to you or your motorcycle. Always be sure that your bike has the proper crash guards and that you also wear the appropriate protective gear.

Hello Silvia! 👋🏻 Just like on any ride, go at your own pace. Start with some of the easier movements and practice those until you feel comfortable to try something more challenging like one knee up on the seat👍🏻 It’s a great exercise to learn how body positioning can make the bike move. Then, when riding off road and the unexpected wobble happens you have developed reflexes to help keep the bike on line🤙🏻

@@truckinadventures-j2e It takes some time to develop the muscle memory so that you are in the right position, but it gives a lot of confidence when it becomes reflexive 🤙🏻

Now that the ground is finally rid of snow and the soil has drained a bit, I have begun taking your lessons more seriously. I’m starting with the bike on its centerstand and raising my feet and legs before I reach the next step. I’m also learning to walk the bike in first gear and that is not an easy exercise with a GSA at over 600lbs! My leg needs to find space between the cylinder and the footpeg, there isn’t much space to walk, let alone run next to the bike. And finally, leaning the GSA on my hip makes me realize how heavy the bike really is. That’s when I quit for the morning, with cramps in my thighs and lower back!

These are some heavy bikes for sure! Very important to have a slight lean to the bike like you mentioned when walking next to it. This allows the bike to be a bit more stable as you walk more, especially on uneven terrain, and it allows you to be slightly away from the cylinder head and center stand. It does get easier with practice and the muscles get used to it 👍🏻💪🏻

Glad you enjoyed it! I have found the exercise to be very helpful in getting used to what inputs (body psoitioning/throttle) I need to make on the bike when I am riding and the terrain gets challenging.

Great question! Important to have your lower legs holding the bike firmly before lifiting one leg, then... engaging your core muscles is important.Have you seen our "How to Stand while Riding Off-Road Motorcycle" kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXbTYoinhNGaqdU You can also slightly lean your upper body towards the side before you lift your leg to counterbalance the bike. This is why I really like this exercise.
