Off season is over and it's time to get back to work for the upcoming season! Here's a look back at what the team got up to in the time off and an insight into how the training regime will begin this year!
Its been a fun-filled off season, with nights out for dinner, a holiday to Cornwall, visiting the local school for a talk, and plenty of quality puppy time with Lola! To be fair there were still plenty of sporting challenges, including the yearly tradition of completing 100x 100s in the pool on Christmas eve-eve ( and the yearly tradition of arguing about whether it's the whole day or just the evening! )
January 1st rolls around and it's time to get back to Pain Cave and start to prepare for the upcoming races. Lucy and Reece share some plans for the new year including how they are planning to approach training differently and how they are going to approach structure and diet.
Comment below letting us know what you think- is Christmas eve the whole day or just the evening?

A wonderful video to give insights into your training progression, strategy, and tactics. In your home training room, I think I saw a Vasa swim erg trainer in the background. How do you like it and use it, especially with all the other swimming opportunities you have? Would it be good for time-starved age-groupers to use if they cannot get to the pool often? Thanks

I know Reece is a coach and that you Lucy also have personal coaching experience. But do you think that may be having a dedicated coach would take you both to the next level? Look at Lionel Sanders for example. He seems to responding really well to his new coach. Anyways.... good luck with the new season!

If you ready the history. It’s called and written the evening before Christmas, which only means the evening. The rest is called the day before Christmas. So historically Christmas Eve is just the evening.

My dad and I were basically bullied out of our local pool a few years ago, for swimming "too fast". My dad was around 2:00/100m and I was even slower then. "iF YoU WaNt tOo sWiM FaSt yOu sHoUlD JoIn a cLuB"

Lmao that's a bit shitty. Where I go there are lanes, fast, medium and slow. For some reason you still get fast swimmers go in the slow and slow swimmers going in the medium and fast. I guess it's just people are arses.

Great to see rowing machine being used (not just for show) But, you should probably watch some videos on "how to do rowing movement properly".. From what I see you don't get much out of it and could end up injuring your self :/
