Watching this again since it was so cool and because it’s 38 and raining in VT. Looking forward to future Brookie vids!

NH doesn't manage many ponds for wild trout but some of the remote streams seem to have wild brook trout. One of them is the stream above Ethan Pond which I have caught what I believe were wild brook trout,. There are a number of others but you are looking for places to go ice fishing. Thanks for your videos.
@BendItFishing Жыл бұрын
Lots of streams have wild Brookies all over NH. But you are right, NH only "manages" a few places for wild Brookies but not all of them. There are lots of small beaver ponds or bigger that have a native population or once stocked and is self sustaining that NH allows ice fishing. Just some are a 4 miles plus hike or have no public access

There aren't any ponds with wild brook trout south of the lakes region. Right?

Cracks me up to see you guys out east have seasons for trout here in Colorado it's 365 a year it's put and take and we are over populated, should be season but it's a free for all. Kinda like California. :D

How does that GoPro Hero 10 hold up in the cold. Be honest, I dropped my Hero 7 down a hole after 12 brookies I managed to film getting caught on there and now need a replacement.

I’m surprised there’s wild lake fish left in NH, besides creeks, Maine yes for sure…. I’m Canadian and of course we have wilds, but our stockers are put in as yearlings, 8-10”, so they grow up eating lake food and are like wild fish, taste good. Stocking big hatchery fish is less appealing IMO. Beauty fish🎉

We have a few ponds that have wild fish but they have special regulations to protect them. We also have a few ponds that were stocked decades ago that are self supporting. And I agree with stockers they are fun for a bit but that's all

Whats the difference between maine and new Hampshire?
@BendItFishing11 ай бұрын
The size!
@TheNewMediaoftheDawn11 ай бұрын
Yes Maine is way bigger, way more remote, goes up farther north. Besides tons of small lakes, there’s a huge lake that has 3-8lbers wild, and I’m sure good stocking there too.

Are there like any native brooktrout anywhere around the manchester area anymore? I doubt it. I know there are tons of little natives in most of the streams from the white mountains up.

@@BendItFishing you should do more videos like that, trying to find small ponds in mountains to catch natives. These dirty stockers you caught we're repulsive and nasty. These trout were magnificient.

How do you know they are not naturalized stockers? Pretty big for natives.
@BendItFishing Жыл бұрын
I've done a ton of research on the pond and nothing has stated that it's been stocked, I was surprised on how big they were too.
@Bridgeman-bg4jl Жыл бұрын
@@BendItFishing I think the stream was stocked and they migrated in. I’m from coos county and the only place they grow big is umbagog and the rapid river. I could be wrong but the eggs in the female a tell of a fish that had its biological clock altered by lights at the hatchery as a fingerling.
