It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan. if they switch they eat with their non dominant hand or switch back. My problem is that if I have to hold this item on my plate while cutting it I can’t hold it in place with my left hand so I have to cut left handed and hold it still with my right hand. But since i eat with my right hand anyways it work out.

Used to work undercover security at Target. It is a hands-on apprehension policy since we were given handcuffs and were trained to grapple shoplifters if they resisted. Other retail stores do have a hands-off policy. It all depends on the stores.

America is lucky like that. 😮 Be careful about this when you travel, though, because in a lot of countries they take the price of the stolen goods out of the cashier's salary even if the cashier doesn't have anything to do with security, even if it is covered by insurance. A bunch of my mates and my sister worked as cashiers during uni and they always complained about it. 😥 Just keep that in mind, too.

I used to work Target security and I can tell you that you’re definitely allowed to grab shoplifters. You’re supposed to present yourself as LP first and if they try to run then you’re allowed to grab them. The only thing you’re not allowed to do is take them to the ground or chase them out into the parking lot. I really hated it when people tried to tell us that we weren’t legally allowed to touch them as if they knew the law.
