Similar story to bart's. Friend knew a guy, introduced me to him. Said he can order me a Wings West body kit. Gave my buddy the money to give to the guy. I'm told the guy gets the money and put the order in. Waited so long for the kit to come in. Worried i got scammed. Got my parents involved, visited his work, etc... The body kit did end up showing up.

I got scammed off $600 for trying to get a yorkie because mine ran away when my lab made a hole under the fence. For months I was super sad so my dad told me to look for another one to get but I didn’t want him to pay another 2k for another Yorkie dog and I saw an add for one for $600 and my dad paid and it was a scam 😢. I was just a sad teenage girl who wanted a dog and I got scammed 💔

That wheel scam is actually pretty common. The dealer guys just end up building such a good customer base that their able to get away with these scams every 1 out of 10 people. Takes people forever to get their money back. They basically just wait till you stop asking for the money back. Cause their really isn’t anything they can do. Cause no receipts are made, to be able to sell them at bulk price before tax.

For Bart’s story, the Jimmy guy probably pocketed half of the deposit Bart gave him, then used the remaining money to order the wheels, at a shop he got a huge discount at. This explains why Bart never had to pay when he picked up the wheels.

In my street there is a guy that would always workout and had a backyard gym equipment for himself. Well the pandemic hit and all of a sudden I would see people in gym attire walking in and out of my block from the morning when I would wake up to head to work to the afternoon when I came back from work . Turn outs he started his own gym during that time when all the gyms where closed. Now that the pandemic is over I still see one or two random ppl but not to the same magnitude .

I got scammed several times in my life. Maybe I'm just too trusting or too naive. For example, I got hard sold into getting a time share scheme. Managed to pay that off but it was a very expensive lesson to learn. Even your own relatives will scam you or try to one up you if given the chance. That's why I have major trust issues now.

as someone that worked in the procurement department for a tile company during covid, just know a LOT of shit did get stopped in customs around this time. it was the most frustrating time!! a lot of our tiles would get stuck in customs and then shipped back to our manufacturers in China and India. LOL

My boy Diego who's in high school at the time wanted an iphone and he start looking for one on offer up he finds one in a shady town and hits me up that he needs a ride, I'm a little nervous because someone got shot over a phone near medieval times in Dallas. I'm nervous but I take him anyways. We get to the spot where we're supposed to me up with a grill Vanessa but a dude shows behind a iron bar fence asking if we're here for the phone, Diego he and get out the car I stay in the car keep it running, he counts the money and does the swap the scammer hand over an IPhone box when he has the cash, he says "the box is empty btw" and takes off running, I've was dumbstruck Diego was even more dumbstruck, gets I'm the car lost for words mad at himself for not checking the box , we're driving back pointing that we should've known form the jump bc that wasn't a chick who showed, all I told him maybe he was trying to become a Vanessa. He started cracking up a bit and i got him pizza. At least wasn't going to be upset on an empty stomach 😂

@@shaggyguy662 yea that detail was something I glossed over bc I just thought maybe the girl didn't want to meet up with 2 strangers at night, another my cousin got into mountain biking and saw a good deal on a bike and wanted someone to go with him for reassurance, I wasn't available so he took another cousin with him. He gets to the spot meets the seller and her son. He counts the money infront of her, gives it to her, then she counts and says it short. He has the bank receipt counted infornt of her so it's definitely not short. Her son sees my other cousin in the car and tells his mom she miss counted, and they get the bike. People will try to short you infront of your face too.
