Awesome episode guys! It’s great to see footage of the Ments! I am so envious of you guys and it’s not just because Bonita is such a fricken gorgeous woman! You’re living the life I wish for! It’s so amazing to see Marley at full stretch, he truly is built to run! I crossed wakes (well moored in the next marina berth!) to the sailing vessel Barrenjoey which was in your Telescopes footage (2nd day?) Good to see her still kicking round. When we bumped into her in Darwin in 1999, she was just heading up to the Ments for the first time. Barrenjoey is the name of the headland at the entrance to Broken Bay in Sydney and the Northern end of Palm Beach, which is the Northern most beach in Sydney (And only a few beaches North of where I live...) Keep up the fantastic work guys, you’re definitely making me froth hard!
@FrothLyfeSailingNandji5 жыл бұрын
Yew! We have seen Barren Joey around quite a bit. She is still kicking strong and seems to be well booked out compared to many other charter boats in the area it appears! The ments are all time, a little thick with crowds at times but we are getting through it. Off to find some real waves in the coming days as the swell is due to pick up!! It must have been a great place here back in the 90's! If only we were born 20 years ago!! haha Cheers legend for the history!

Yosh mate, just don't try that at J-Bay, you know what the locals can be like, but in the Mentawai's most of the surfers are on boat trips or something, not too many Indo locals surfing out there, paddle the howlies up the reef, spin around and sprint for the shoulder and you're in thick, I'm an old snake meself mate😂😂😂😂😂. What sort of quiver you got going for Indo? I'd have a couple of 6'3" channel bottoms, a 6'6" rounded pin channel bottom and maybe a 6'8" pin tail channel bottom gun for the bigger days, mind you I'm only 5'7". Sit a thick pit for me legend!! Doing some nice turns with style there mate👍👍👍 A while back on your live stream you guys, sorry Bonn, said you were anticipating being in SA by December, and also mentioned St Francis marina, personal opinion on St Francis is that it is a super tricky and exposed marina to enter and exit, and basically only really feasible in good weather with a calm sea state, it's basically half way up a rock point with the world famous Bruce's beauties breaking from just below it, and the point continues up to a rocky headland with quite a lot of reef around the area, a few chokka (squid) boats have ended up on the bricks, and a few crew have lost their lives. You will battle to enter and exit about 3 days a week for sure, it's also pricy and the nearest place you might be able to rent a vehicle is in Humansdorp which is about 30 odd KM away, also it will be peak season and accommodation will be expensive and scarce. I'll email you some more detailed information and as per previous email my home is your home, and I'd be delighted to host you and show you around, Port Elizabeth is only 65km from Jeffrey's Bay, but it's not a summer wave, you might be lucky to get a few paddles in at supers, but there are several really good waves very closely situated so you'll get waves for sure. Good one, take care and God bless and protect you on your journey
