Briar glanced at her sister. Feather had become very feeble and weak in the last couple days, and Briar and found herself wheezing a bit as well. Briar was frightened. What if she got that sick too? She shivered at the thought of it. All Briar's siblings had been going easy on Feather lately, since they knew she couldn't play with them back. Feather had stopped eating as well. Aden and Raven had been standing by Feather more and more in hopes of getting her to eat. Every once in a while, Feather would eat a little bit of her food. She'd usually throw it up almost immediately after though. Off the topic of Feather eating food, Briar was beginning to get hungry. Aden and Raven had been off hunting, they went out at dawn and the sun was setting now. Briar was a little worried, but hunger gave her hope of them coming back soon. As if something answered her thoughts, Aden began padding with Raven towards the den. They were carrying a elk calf, and it looked delicious. They finally got back, and asked if we were alright. Tempest came up to them and stated that he had been having trouble breathing lately. I guess I'm not the only one who's a little sick, Briar murmured to herself. Raven took a quick glance at Aden. Then, turning back to Tempest, she said something Briar couldn't hear. Tempest only nodded, and trotted back to the other pups. Aden faced all of us. "Here's the food! Make sure that everyone gets a bite to eat." In an instant, we were all at the food. Well, all except Feather. Briar could see that Raven was trying to temp Feather into eating with a meat chunk, but Feather refused. "I'm not hungry", Feather declared. Briar winced. Everything Feather said sounded like it took a lot of effort, and she wheezed with each breath. Briar could tell Raven wasn't pleased by Feather's response, but gave up and began to walk away sadly. Briar turned back to the elk. Crow was shouting. "This is so good!" He yipped. Meanwhile Autumn was silently eating. Tempest was eating at a leg, wheezing whenever he breathed. Before Briar knew it, it was night. "Bedtime!" Aden chirped. Everyone scurried into the den. Well, all except Feather. She had to be carried. Briar lowered herself into the warmth of Aden and Raven, and before long she was asleep. *Three hours later* Briar woke up to a weird noise. It sounded something like... choking. Briar briefly opened her eyes and noticed Aden, Raven, and Feather were not in the den. But of course, being half asleep, Briar simply shrugged it off and slowly closed her eyes. Little did Briar know, her life would be changed forever that morning. *9 AM* Briar awoke in two seconds. She heard somewhat of a wailing noise, and peeked outside. Her parents were sitting slouched over something, and it looked like they hadn't groomed themselves yet today. Briar realized her parents were the ones wailing. The wailing had awoken her siblings as well, she could tell. She stepped out into the sunlight, only to find a body lying on the ground, not breathing and cold. That body looked a lot like Feather, but it couldn't be. It simply couldn't. Why did I do this this took too long ;^; Edit: this got more attention than I thought! :D I'll probably make another in the next episode :) Edit two: I made another I n the next episode! :D

I would recommend sending your pups into the den when you sleep cause then they wouldn't get sick so often

It's actually a good idea to sleep with the pups outside the den so that your den's flea load doesn't get too high.

With my experience the den should only be used to keep them safe from predators. Sleeping in the den will raise the flea population and make the pups sicker

I hope Briar and Tempest will be okay. My wolf, Shadow, and his mate, Hazel’s puppy, Swift, got ill. He was one of the two boys, and used to be so active and running away from the den, but when he was sick he just sat there. He was the biggest pup (his brother Chase was the runt) so that may have helped. One night, I checked Swift’s health and it had dropped to 18% and I was like ‘omg he’s gonna die’ but he survived, thankfully. RIP Feather 💕

My puppy, Dove got sickly and got to 9% health before she died, I was so sure she was going to die so I sat down by her and took a few photos just to remember her. Then I noticed that in the corner it didn’t show the paw as golden when I was around her so I checked their stats and Dove no longer had the ‘(sick)’ around her name, I was so happy. Now she is in slough creek preparing a territory with her mate so they can bring the next generation :)

I’m not sure I you know this, Jay but I found out that playbowing and playing with sick pups is what staying near them means and making sure they recover. 😀

You don’t have to use emotes, just stay near them. Also, refrain from sleeping, it brings your pups’ health down. There’s a chance it could help heal your pup, but it’s a risk you shouldn’t take.

For higher chances of survival for the sick pups, I suggest picking them up and taking them with you to mark. Since both Tempest and Briar have fallen ill, you should take turns taking them with you on marking trips, and you can hide them in a nearby patch of tall grass to hunt. I also think they are getting sick from staying in the rain so long because like in real life, I think the pups may be getting colds as well but because they are so young it can kill them. Edit: I just saw that you actually chose the same rendezvous site that I did for my first litter! It's a nice rendezvous site, I love the flowing river nearby.

One trick I found is when chasing after something and running out of stam is let go of the fixed marker on target, and that regenerates the stam for a bit, then turn back on the target marker, and boom, you get back on your target quick. Sucks for the loss of Feather :(

Can someone explain some ways that can increase the chance of the pups getting sick?, so far i have no sick pups (i moved dens every time the fleas went above 35%, no flooded dens yet, and i always topped them off will full hunger. idk if this kept them from getting sick but it would be nice to know what does get them sick so i can keep my streak. so far i still have all 7 pups, full health and only 1 away from 15lbs)

Sleeping drops sick pup's health by 9~10%. a small tip on caring them

Sleeping passes time, which is why their health drops. It would drop by 10% if you played out the eight hours you sleep as well. Sleeping is helpful because, if you sleep close to a sick pup, they drop LESS health than they would if you’re apart from them for eight in-game hours, and they get closer to recovering.

Once 2 stranger lives attacked my pups, they didn't get any of my pups but my wolf, Zepher, ended up killing one in the end. Later, the other sister came back to try and get to our pups, failing again, and my mate ended up killing her to in the end.

I hate a very ill pup he was a pup to my main wolves Cliff and Mochi His name was Fletcher I fed him and tried to car for him one night I checked his health and it was 11%.... And then I slept the next day I expected him to die but he survived some how? I was happy and surprised and now it’s just the travel we need to get through I’ll say if he makes it or not :)

one of the things I first noticed straight away when you started was that there was a carcass right on your doorstep, this is something which would have invited sickness to your pack (idk how long it had been there in your game but after it was gone I could still hear flies soooo, hunting maybe 1 - 2 hexes away from the den would better ensure your pack is better protected from sickness (not totally but the chances are a lot lower))
