This was just the type of game I have been hoping for. We'd all love more goals and more chances, but I am 1000% A-okay with a boring possession dominated game that we control from beginning to end. Chances were wonderful, Foden and Doku were sensational, don't get me wrong, but I'm so happy seeing us go in, hold the ball, pounce on the ball, get the bodies back when we need them, ask questions, and come home with a W and a clean sheet. Happy, happy days my blues, and just the mentality we need ahead of Madrid on top of everything else.

Finally it was an excellent game for Doku. He was absolutely sharp, in the right tempo and added a bit of variety to his game. He was aggressive in his shots. You could feel that he was shooting to score. It seems all our attackers have understood this, which is good. Good to note that Gvardiol is stepping forward also.

The very least a striker could do when they're not scoring is back into players, hold up the ball and lay it off to their teammates, something Giroud was so effective at which brought the best out of Hazard and Pulisic. But Haaland can't do that because his 1st touch is horrific. He's very much like Lukaku, a flat-track bully against the smaller sides. You're better off without him, man.
