YES, to more details. About 2/3 of the rides I remember from my childhood are now gone, including 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and If You Had Wings. Pirates is still there, yes, but it has been changed in ways I don't like. I'm not sure what the current state of the Tiki Room is -- I know it was mangled, but then apparently somewhat restored. Aside from what they do over Christmas (which I think is atrocious), the changes to the Haunted Mansion seem to be much more subtle and careful.

That's why i like Orlando's Mansion more. it doesn't get that awful nightmare before christmas overlay! I don't understand why diehard fans of the haunted mansion love it so much, it completely ruins everything i love about the ride. The creepiness, the soundtrack, everything.

they should consider doing what they originally intended by removing the doom buggies for a day and turning it into a temporary walk-through with guard rails, maybe add back the costumed phantom

Thanks again! I love these ride-thru's and I don't care how many times a Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean is uploaded by the KZbinr I still get excited to watch. LOL. I don't even care if it's like 2 minutes in a 20 minute video I still love to see them. I haven't been to Disneyland in 20 years but I have so many fond memories of being there when I was a kid it's nice to have somebody (like Offhand Disney) help me relive those memories even though so many of the ride have been updated. Thanks again!

I live in California, so my go to park is Disneyland. I become very used to the original Haunted Mansion. I recently watched a ride through video of WDW’s .Haunted Mansion. Florida’s looks better.

Love this so much, thank you. I went to Disneyland for the first time over the weekend and fell in love with the Haunted Mansion. 1st ride we stopped in front of the clock for a while. Squinting in the dark, I realised that it says 13 o'clock. Felt great appreciation for the details they knew most guests would not notice in the dark. And the starving caretaker's dog 😿💛 On the 2nd ride through, I noticed the dog appears again later in the ride, by the mummy. It was lit like a ghost so I assume it died... But I don't know?

I absolutely LOVE this! I wish Disney had a sort of system where you could have a headset to talk about the history and backstory of the ride people can pick up while in line. Sort of like museums do. This is absolutely awesome! I hope you do another!

3:12 (ahem) This is clearly where I make my contribution. Edward of Woodstock, Duke of Cornwall and Prince of Wales (also known as the Black Prince), was born in 1330, the eldest son of King Edward III and Philippa of Hainault (in modern-day northeastern France). He was a member of the Plantagenet dynasty (the longest-ruling royal family in English history, from Henry II to Richard III). He is best remembered as one of England’s most successful commanders, honing his skills during the Hundred Years’ War (the war actually lasted for over 116 years, but I guess the Hundred Years’ War sounded cooler than the Hundred and Sixteen Years’ War). He was considered the very epitome of chivalry, and is ranked amongst the greatest knights of the era. As for the nickname, there are two stories: 1) he always wore black armor, or 2) he was particularly vicious in battle against the French. Although he was Edward III’s heir, he was never king, having died of dysentery (as did many soldiers in those days, most notably Henry V) in 1376 at only 45 years old. This devastated both his father and his country: Edward III was already old and in poor health, and the new heir was only a child. That heir was the Black Prince’s young son with his wife, Joan of Kent. He became King Richard II upon Edward III’s death at only ten years old. His subjects expected Richard to model himself after his formidable father and grandfather. It...didn’t quite go that way (and that is an understatement). As a result, the Black Prince is one of history’s greatest “what-if’s.” There is some debate over who was the worst King Richard: the second, or the third. I personally think Richard III gets the “honor,” but a good case can be made for his predecessor. It all boils down to whether or not you think Richard III was responsible for the deaths of the Princes in the Tower. If he was guilty, he’s the worst (it’s kind of hard to beat killing your own young nephews in order to take the Crown). Either way, they are both in my top five worst monarchs of England (along with Edward II, John, and Henry VI). If anyone is both still reading and still interested, I recommend Dan Jones’ docudrama on the Plantagenet dynasty (available on KZbin), “Britain’s Bloodiest Crown, Part 4: Tyranny.” It does a fantastic job both of explaining just how awful Richard II was as King and of entertaining you at the same time. If you want something a bit more in-depth and nerdy, KZbin also houses the BBC documentary “The Plantagenets.” For Richard II’s reign, watch episode 3: “The Death of Kings.” And my family said minoring in medieval history would never come in handy. *TL;DR: The Black Prince was the son of Edward III and the father of Richard II. The former was a great king, the latter was not.*

This is great! (Who takes that 4 year old into haunted mansion ahh! When I was 12 I was scarred!) I love that this ride is mostly comprised of physical sets and details which makes it really feel like I'm in a haunted mansion! I love immersive experiences and this one is definitely the best (next to pirates of course) I also love how you mention so many details about almost every part of the ride! You probably already know this Offhand, but for everyone else that doesn't. Fun Fact, the voice of the corpse trying to escape his coffin yelling "let me out" is actually the voice of Xavier Atencio. And also in the outdoor graveyard of the Haunted Mansion there is a gravestone for him which says "Requiescat Francis Xavier, no time off for good behavior" which was fitting as he was known to be a notoriously hard worker.

We were there just before Christmas and there 2 girls on our raft on Grizzly River Run playing on their phones. I half considered handing them a baggie, and then decided if you’re playing on your phone on a ride, you deserve whatever happens. They ended up putting them away, but it’s a pet peeve of mine when people play on their phones on a ride, especially on a low-light ride like Haunted Mansion.

The word you were referring to in the Spanish safety spiel it does mean “Prepare”. The word is “Prepárense”, and it isn’t like an extra scary word, but the way the narrator says it, it is quite scary and frightful. One time I was on Haunted Mansion and I decided to be silly and try to scare the guy cast member standing at the bottom of the hill right before the safety spiel. He got me back so good by walking along behind my doom buggy just out of view up the hill. Just as I was about the turn the corner, he peered into my buggy and said “hello” in a creepy voice... I screamed so loud 😂 He was a legend and made the ride really special

My Mom and me did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour on Oct 29th the 10 am tour at the Magic Kingdom over here in Florida. Our tour guide said there is a picture of the ghost host in the stretching room. Allegedly it is the guy sitting on top of the other guys.

When I was little, my doom buggy actually got stuck in front of the hallway with the candelabra. The extended period in front of it actually really freaked me out and I thought it was part of the ride 😂

In the stretching room, why were other people legit screaming? Or maybe it just sounds like that? I know you can hear a scream after the lighting flash, but it sounds like other people are screaming too. That’s never happened to me haha.
