This is the song I heard on the radio one fateful night in the '80s...went to school the next morning and described it to my friend Wendy...and was practically assaulted with BOOKS of DD. I loved this when I first heard this in 1983 as well. Their videos were often like film quality. Rio, Save a Prayer.. But they also did the theme tune for View tiba Kill (James Bond) 1985. Enjoy this band.

It is "fire dance"! You pretty much hit the nail on the head as far as the video's theme. They are like an underground resistance planning a revolution against whoever is occupying the country. No idea how much it cost, but it does look like it was filmed on location. Talk about film quality, there is also an extended 18 minute long version of this video! You're absolutely right about the chorus too! I think they often have the chorus figured out before the verses are even done!

I read that they (or at least Simon) didn't like this song even though it was a hit. They rarely perform/performed it live and it was the one hit noticeably left off their original Greatest Hits album.

Union of the snake is a good one to check out, video is weird though lol. The best of Duran Duran album is the best from the 80's era. Then the 90's has a different sound but also worth checking out.
