I love that you shared that you didn’t get all things done, even if it wasn’t a finished project just enjoy every moment as you go through them, as cliche as it sounds it really is about the journey and not the destination. Enjoying your tasks, like spring cleaning ,and not just getting it done makes the whole process much more enjoyable than the need-to-finish-pressure ever will. Be in the moment and being present is more important than getting shit done at an unrealistic timeframe. My anxiety calmed down so much when I practiced this mindset cause suddenly if felt like it wasn’t that big of a deal anymore, as i learned to be in the moment and allowing myself to feel whatever i felt without a need to be “done or perfect”🥰

I read this somewhere recently and I think it really resonates to what you mention. “Let your feelings feel.” In other words, let your mind and body process the feelings it is feeling. Instead of listing reasons why you feel that way, just let your body soak it in and come back to it a few minutes later. Out of habit, we tend to overwhelm ourselves with listing the problems of why you feel the way you do but that doesn’t do much besides overwhelm and clutter your mind. I love you Kalyn and you’re doing a wonderful job. ❤️

Your therapist is so right. You don’t need to feel like you’ve abandoned a plan or a vlog. Embrace changing it. That’s a hard thing for planning/perfectionist personality types to say, even harder to do. Gosh, I have a feeling that your maternity leave calendar looks a lot like your Vlogtober planning. I hope you aren’t pushing yourself too much. It’s been amazing to watch you grow as a person and see your content evolve over the years.

Thank you for being so real and honest about not getting everything done. I'm doing my Masters and we have a two week break starting today. I have a massive spring cleaning to do list and I'm not gonna lie - I am overwhelmed by it. I tend to be a perfectionist and super hard on myself when I don't "achieve" everything but I am trying to let go a little bit and realize that I don't need to get it all done in the next two weeks. Rest and relaxation deserve to be on that to do list too.

Enjoy while you can. My baby boy is coming in 4 weeks… I am out of energy, everything hurts, I still have couple things to do and there is no energy left. I cannot sleep, I wake up with pain many times during the night… but it is worth it. I love that you want to vlog again. I am enjoying them while I can 😂

As a Canadian, you know 12-18 months of maternity leave is the cultural norm here, but obviously a self-employed content creator wouldn't be entitled to the same financial benefits (unless you pay into EI) or time off as the rest of us (without suffering at the loss of the algorithm). I'm curious as to what your thoughts are around this and/or what your plan is for maternity leave? As a new mom, I couldn't imagine working a single hour, though I know for some mothers, working is essential to their personal identity. I'd also be really curious to know if your partner would consider taking the parental leave portion (assuming he'd qualify).

It actually made me feel extremely validated and give myself some grace when you couldn’t finish today! 🥺🤍 I have a toddler and am due with #2 in July and soooo many days feel like that. That was some necessary Mama-life representation, and I want to thank you for it. 👏 Also, would love to see a video on how you’re prepping your businesses for mat leave if you feel up to sharing! I keep putting off a plan because I don’t know where to start! 😂
