I have a soft spot for Carter because of his advocacy post presidency and we’re both from Georgia. He fought to stay alive long enough to vote in this past election, his words, but we end up losing. I wish he could have seen Trump defeated. RIP President Carter.✌🏾✊🏾🫡

He WAS defeated by Biden, that's a small consolation.

I can still see my ex husband literally on the floor screaming that he won 10k on New Years Eve 23 yrs ago after his uncle passed our scratchers to everyone…only to find out he had to redeem it at “Yo mommas house”! That man had every red dime cent spent while he was on that floor! 🤣🤣🤣That mess was HILARIOUS & still makes me lol!

I’ve had African friends who love country music. A very good friend of mine from Eritrea for example. I think many of a certain age could get it on the radio when young where they were in Africa.

To me, it’s cruel. That happened at office party, the person who received a winning ticket had a heart attack before. He was so excited and they didn’t tell him for about 45 minutes. I left that was horrible to witness!

Marc starts the show promising he wouldn't go off about music for an hour and have a short show. Proceeds to have a long show AND goes off about music for an hour....

Is hegemony ever considered good at any point in history? If so, what groups would generally benefit vs. the group that generally suffer as a result?

I think a family member pranking another family member is going to far. Between friends or coworkers it would be different....it would still suck...but you'd get over it.

CHUMBAWAMBA! For those who don't know, they have a looong history of seriously intellectual leftist songs. Tubthumper was a working class protest song. Look at (literally, look) at the Boy Bands Have Won album. The cover says it all. Dig em.

I have been turned on to a lot of great black music here, but I gotta say we need some deeper cuts discussed from some of the noteworthy white musicians across folk, rock, punk, etc
