two problems with the second story, 1) methane is a rocket fuel and is carbon neutral to make if you don't start with oil. 2) hydrogen is also a rocket fuel and simple to get. so no we didn't have the keys to the cage the lock was just easier to pick.
@noppornwongrassamee89412 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I was thinking "isn't hydrogen used for liquid rocket fuel nowadays?" The lack of petroleum may give aliens trouble when it comes to developing plastics though...
@ChrissieBear2 жыл бұрын
The idea is that a lack of petroleum leads to the idea of combustion engines never arising. And without combustion engines, the idea of building rockets that run on a burnable fuel never arises either.
@winterbornfan2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrissieBear 1) the first combustion engines where steam engines. 2) rockets predate the steam engine. 3) one of the first liqued rocket fuels was ethonal, it just has low energy density.

Project Orion. Old bang bang. There are a whole slew of fissionables suitable for rocket fuel.
@Hellsong89 Жыл бұрын
"lock was easier to pick" Well it was more of a good old ego, competition and banging head into wall until wall broke. We took way more risks than what are taken today to achieve things even if it could turn deadly and it did. Now days have near miss when deorbiting satellite and whole space programs could be shut down due that, let alone if rocket blew up killing the crew. Mind at the time we considered seriously and did non fission tests with good old HE in form of project Orion as Calvin mentioned.. drop nukes behind the ship and collect its energy into massive shield dome behind the ship that pushes it forwards. Yeah try even suggesting that nowdays and see what happens.

NO on Story 2 You could stumble upon fuel quite easily. It's just oil, so if you stumble upon oil producing algea or whale oil, you know what oil is. Now you just need chemestry and you could make plastics and other oils. There, maybe you can't habe a billion cars, but you can make rockets. Enouch for rockets but not cars. Oh, and we litterally used to have battery carrages at the same time and before oil engines. So they would simply have always had battery cars.

SOmeone didn't pay attention to the lecture. The humans are saying that things are automatically not decohered. So no, the humans can't shut it off. It's also possible that the reverse is happening. That alliens constantly decohere everything. I mean, seeded from edlritch origins. And besides, if your brain would likely be able to observe you, and if you don't observe yourself, it probably is still a switch. Besides, your scells would likely be observing. To not observe yoruself makes no sence, meaning that the alliens are no what they apear to be, nor the planets they are on, either that or they get modified by the alliens.
