*Really great advice from user Dragon-00* -If u wana get rid of those errors on the motherboard go back to the old dell case and reconnect the front io to the the motherboard and cut the cord about half way and that error will go away it’s really simple and don’t stress over cutting something and for the thermal on it’s a small odd shaped black piece also with the original case it easy to get it should be near the speaker just plug that in also simple no cutting or anything just plug it in the motherboard and for the power button order some jumpers. 2 pin jumpers u can get 100 of them for 3$ and just put them on the remaining pins next the the power button and then bye bye errors

There’s a front header kit you can buy on ebay to convert the front audio and power button to the standard pc connections and this way you wont get any errors upon bootup. This there is a “dell 3 pin to standard 5 pin” converter cable you you can use any standard PC cooling fan. 20:56 if you still own this pc you messed up big time. You put the ram in the two slots next to each other, not using dual channel and breaking you motherboard. Dual channel can give you a 30 percent performance boost and I've personally seen 20 fps extra when using dual channel.

Some of the steps seen here was good reason I didn't bother doing these types of case swaps (proprietary components). I love the idea that this basically is recycling an older system that's still perfect for use and plenty workstation potential. I tried doing same thing here with an HP motherboard and could not use audio and front USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports which was a deal breaker for me. I want to make sure it ALL functions. The work around is purchasing a USB hub to expand port count from the board to get back what can't be used in the front, and the ability to add a beefy GPU for budget gaming! I did the opposite and recently bought an optiplex. I swapped out the hardrive for an SSD, and bought an LP graphics card to fit in case. Love these little optiplex machines!

Just a theory, but two ways to handle the front panel connector. 1. Transplant power switch and LED from Dell case to new cut out on gaming case. 2. Find the Dell mother board connector pin out and splice it into the new gaming case front panel.

You can create your own front I/O adapters. Purchase 2.0mm pitch to 2.54mm pitch dupont wires and look up the pin outs of the front headers on google. I bought the HiLetgo 200pcs/5x40pcs Breadboard Jumper Wires Dupont Wire kit on amazon for 7 bucks and I was able to adapt two Dell Precision T1650 into gaming cases.

Does your motherboard have mounting screws for the CPU fan? Most Dell motherboards I've seen these days don't have them and rely on the case for the screw mounts.

Initially I thought tempered glass would be an immense waste of money for a budget build, but you're 2 steps ahead, using acrylic. Well played, and good video.
@lachieplays80024 жыл бұрын
Just a tip acrylic scratches very eazy so probly not the best idea for long term.
@jjoke50144 жыл бұрын
@@lachieplays8002 Very much agreed, acrylic is only useful for those who have a tight budget and want the "gamer" look, the exact audience for this video. I currently have an NZXT s340 case, the acrylic side panel is riddled with scratches. EDIT: Not only is the case extremely unnecessary and prone to scratches, but those $30 could be spent far better on an SSD for a boot drive (60 - 120 gb). Same applies for the RGB.
