Atlanta will be fun for you. Great restaurants, museums, attractions, sports, music and lots of bars. Plus the weather is usually nice in October and November since it won't be so hot. We don't usually get really cold weather until late December or January.

If you are planning a trip to the states, and you guys have never been to the west coast consider flying to Seattle direct or even Vancouver in Canada... it sounds crazy but it only adds like 2 hours to your flight time something about how the plane flies higher and the curve of the earth further north makes it a shorter distance but if you flew into NY for example and then to Seattle from there its like a 6 hour flight...just a thought and something not a lot of people realize...so maybe a long flight west and then take shorter domestic flights back to the east coast...I mean I am from NYC so its all the same to me...I just think it's a cool idea and a nice little time saver

I just knew French Laundry in Napa would be on there. It's very famous. A lot of celebrities and politicians go there. From what I've heard you have to book a reservation up to a year in advance.

Been to Commander's Palace twice. Amazing experience and amazing food. Frech Laundry is also outstanding, Peter Lugar's is great, but so mare many other steak houses. Most of the other places mentioned are tourist attractions at this point, but still worth trying.

The thing with stone crabs is that they have big claws that they can regenerate. Crabbers will catch them, take one claw to sell to Joe's Stone Crab, and toss the crab back in and it will grow back the claw after a while

I've eaten at Katz's (and you can order from them online). In New Orleans I passed up Commander's Palace for Galatoire's. The French Laundry may be most famous now for being where several California politicians, including other governor, broke their own Covid isolation rules. Have never been to Voodoo Donuts but maple syrup and bacon is one of my favorite food combos. Turning that into a donut is genius.

If you watch the Florida vlogs by British tourists, they make it a point to go to Voodoo Doughnut during their visits to Orlando. They swear by them. I’m with Aidan. I won’t stand in line for a long time for a restaurant. My father always used to say you should never eat at a restaurant with skinny waitresses because even they won’t eat the restaurant’s food…and they can eat there for free.

For the most part famous restaurants in the US are a novelty thing and not necessarily the good places to go to (which honestly is probably true in the UK as well). The best restaurants in my opinion are the family owned ones that people talk about but aren't usually featured on any sort of KZbin list.

Im a Miami native, and for me the only reason to go over to Miami Beach is to eat at 2 places....Joe's Stone Crabs and Prime 112 (steakhouse).... 1st time i was there the table on our left was Governor Graham & his wife & Governor Brown & Linda Ronstadt his ladyfriend. Also as we were leaving we passed Paul Newman & his wife eating with Robert Redford & his wife.....that was eye-opening

I've been to a LOT of restaurants throughout the US and this might be a hot take, but you can get a cheesesteak sandwich pretty much anywhere that's just as good as one in Philly. Even if they don't make it exactly right, it's still amazing; but it's hard to mess up a cheesesteak sandwich. It's one of my go to's if I ever see it on a menu somewhere. When I make mine at home, I throw in some pepperjack cheese as well for a little extra flavor and kick.

California also sent France lots of its vines when many of their crops were fire damaged many years ago. Many of those vineyards are basically cultivating California vines and the wines from them. Study up before you make silly comments. The French Laundry does primarily serve California wines, and the food is not traditionally French. It is California cuisine that was started with Alice Waters at her famous restaurant, Chez Panisse, in Berkeley, CA. New wave French cooks adopted many of her techniques and nouveau French cuisine was influenced by her and all the other chefs who took on California cuisine.

@@LukaDonesnitch Pat’s was very greasy, the meat was bland for both. Geno’s the bread was literally cold like they just took it out of the fridge. Neither cooked the meat with the onions rather they had precooked onion they add to the sandwich if you ask. I’m a Philadelphia native and have had cheesesteaks all over the city and some suburbs of Philly. Most local corner stores will give you a better cheesesteak than either of these two. No one I know from Philly goes to either for cheesesteaks.
