One of the things about Jared Goff is hes not a very mobile QB, but hes exceptionally durable. He took a hard hit his rookie year for trying to gain an extra yard and i think since then hes been more smart about it. If that was 3rd i guarantee he would went up for the 1st but why risk it when you have 2 more (3 more for the lions 😂) downs to foght for it Great video just a insight to why JG plays that way. Lifelong 56 year old Lions fan here. I support Brighton, Go Seagulls, for heritage reasons and their individual paths to success are quite similar. The last time the league spoke of my team as a Superbowl contender was 1991. We were destined to be what ESPN called them, "The Team of the Decade (1990s)." They lost 2 key members of the offensive line that season. Mike Utley was paralyzed on a freak play, and Eric Andolsek was killed by a truck while mowing his lawn. They were never replaced until Sheila Hamp Ford took over the club about 5 years ago.

You were wondering why the Lions’ quarterback didn’t go for the first down when he ran it. Starting quarterbacks have a unique skill set, and the backup QB’s are, generally, not nearly as good, especially since they lack playtime with the first string players. If they get injured it can destroy the rest of the season. So, they are supposed to slide or run out of bounds rather than get tackled as risk injury. Coaches get pissed off if they get tackled, because an injury to the starting QB could ruin the season for the whole team.

I have been a Lions fan for years, they were the butt of every joke. They are no longer a joke. Some how they keep winning. But I fear all the injuries to the team will catch up to them and that would be a shame. The Lions have had a massive amount of injuries to their team, especially on defense. We lost our best players and they will all be out for the rest of the season.... the D still managed to play well without some of them. But a couple of games ago... they lost even more players. They filled some of the spots with guys off the practice squad but there was not enough to fill all the spots from guys who were out. I believe they had to bring in guys that were no longer on a football team or practice squad (not sure about that) When they played this game... out of all our starting LBs and DLs... I think only a couple of our starters were in that game. There are a few guys that may come back for our upcoming game against the Bills... so I am hoping the Lions can win this upcoming game. Our Division is the best in the NFL.... The Vikings are 1 game behind the Lions and the Packers are 2 or 3 behind them. The Lions have clinched a playoff spot for sure but I would love to see them take the division and get a bye week during the playoffs. they could buy enough time to get some more players back. In all my years of watching football... I don't ever remember a team having this many injuries. And if they did... they sure didn't have a 12-1 record.

The 85 bears era was before I even knew about FB so don't bring that up.

@@kim.jong.skillz Oh I fully acknowledged that it's weird for me to react the way I do when I hear that. If you read what I said again, you'll find that I don't disagree. I'm 45. We didn't even start winning the division until I was 15. I think the turning point was 93 when we beat Barry's Lions in the playoffs; the Favre and Sharpe connection, with Reggie and LeRoy running the defense.
