Policing is one of the most dangerous and stressful jobs today. Officers go through situations that many of us couldn't imagine. These things aren't spoken about. Many people have no idea what the job truly entails.
This is a song I wrote in response to that. This video is an attempt to give the public a glance of what it's like to bear the badge.
Stay in the fight.

this song is very sad. reminds me of my buddies dad constable wynn of the st.albert rcmp. On january 17 2015 he was shot and killed in side a casino doing a regular sweep and found a stolen truck, him and his partner were both shot, david wynn was killed and constable bonds was injured from being shot in the torso and arm. As a dispatcher listening to that radio traffic breaks my heart. You ask him status once and he doesn’t answer. Maybe he didn’t hear me? You ask him again and he doesn’t answer. Is he in a bad radio spot? You ask a third time and he doesn’t answer. Your partner starts to call his phone. Please answer me. You ask a fourth time and he doesn’t answer. His partners ask where he’s at. You ask a fifth time and he doesn’t answer. Your partner is calling his phone a third time. You ask a sixth time and he doesn’t answer. You hear units from other departments call enroute. You ask and ask and he still doesn’t answer. Please dear Lord let him be ok! The other officers make the scene and what they say can bring relief or break you heart. I’ve had a night like that. My officer was ok. He was in a fight and couldn’t answer. When I cover your channel, you are mine for those hours I sit there. It’s my job to bring you home.

A lot of memories come up when I heard this song. I remember the day clearly I witnessed this happened. His partner was pinned down spray n pray trying to live and get to the down officer. I made my choice in under a heart beat and don't regret it. Because of that it wasn't 2 officers down. I remember spending the weekend with the surviving officer being there for him and thinking he's just a boy a civilian he shouldn't have had to know this like I do the Marine combat veteran but I knew I was where I was suppose to be. That officer needed to know not every citizen is against LEO like that and many of us DO stand behind the thin blue line. We do have your 6, 3, 9, and noon. God bless all our first responders and their families as it isn't just the officer taking the risks but so is his family. The family is just as aware as he is this just may be that call his last tour.

As a thirty year retired Officer I pray for this Officer, his family and fellow Officers. In the thirty years of service I saw a fellow Officer take his own life as his injuries caused him to become addicted to pain meds and he just could not take it, I was the second officer to arrive on the scene of my Lt being shot praise God he lived and I saw a fellow officer who had done two combat tours before becoming an Officer killed by a college student who didn't want to get a DUI. I know Police Officers lately have been labeled the bad guys but there are far more Police Officers out there that are are good guys. I pray for you all brothers stay safe.

My hometown of Pea Ridge, AR lost and officer yesterday after a suspect hit him with a car and dragged him. He was an officer 23yrs Last year we lost an officer in Fayetteville,AR due to being assassinated while sitting in his patrol car. He had a baby girl that will never get to meet her daddy. This job is not for the faint of heart and it is really heart breaking for the community. My BF is a police officer and I pray every single day that I never have an officer show at my door with bad news. It takes a very special person to wear that badge and they are so loved.

As someone who respects the blue, I have always smiled at an officer passing by me if I'm walking or driving down the road. Becoming a law enforcement officer would be one of the most pleasurable things to me because I want to help people in my community; whether it be in the city, county, or the state. My father used to be a Park Officer and it's just as dangerous as being one in the community. I don't care how dangerous the job can be, and how much stress I can take before I break down: it's as long as I've done my job helping people. When an law enforcement officer gives you a ticket, or worst case scenario; jail time, it's not because he wants to ruin your day (that's an obvious no), he/she wants you to learn a lesson and help you not make that same mistake again. That's what they're trying to get to you. Law Enforcement Officers are not super-human, they're just normal people, like everyone in this country, and even the world! They can feel pain, and most of all, have emotions; they're not robots! I can go on writing an essay about how Police officers are the same as humans, but I want YOU to figure it out yourself.
