A Tennessee police officer took an 84-year-old woman to her hair appointment. While on a routine patrol, officer Lance Hoffmeister saw an elderly woman walking down the side of a busy highway. The woman, Elizabeth Hood, told the officer that just had to walk an extra mile to her hair appointment, because the bus only got her so far. Hoffmeister offered to drive her all the way to the salon, but his good deed didn't end there. The officer says he'll pick her up in the future, too.

This gives me memories of when I was stationed in Germany as a soldier. I helped an old German lady to cross the street. I saw her as if she wanted to cross the street and I stopped my car. When I asked her, she just grabbed my arm while we walked slowly through the intersection. All the German motorists stopped too, got out of their car and started helping too. They were tapping my back saying thank you. I felt so good. I was on my BDU uniform while driving to work that day.

The fact that he is truly concerned with her and went that step further to give her his name and number so she wouldn't have to take a bus and still have a long walk with the walker, that she won't have to do that anymore, is phenomenal. It's also a reminder to me from my childhood and growing up with wonderful memories of 'Aunts and Uncles ' - no blood relation - that were Police Officers and spouses that treated us as family. Plus Mamas oldest brother was a Marshal in L. A. County. Always very proud of Law enforcement.
