I'm a Cuban woman first generation American , my husband is American we've been married for 36 years gone through a lot of hell , and worked through it all , we finally bought our own first home . My husband's family was from Appalachia very poor , he wasn't taught how to make it either , and my parents didn't teach me either . We took the long and hard way , but we made it , with a lot of prayer . Now we could leave something to our daughter it isn't much but a lot better than what we got ,,, which was nothing , that's not to take anything from our parents because they were good loving parents . There are tons of new immigrants for decades that came here with nothing worked very hard continuously bought their homes have businesses , and they probably weren't taught either . Ultimately what it takes is a lot of hard work , and a lot of Americans are soft . And that darling I think is a lot of the difference . 11:11

The problem with these kids is they are lazy. They want everything given to them with out putting any work. If something is wrong in my community I don't ignore it and say it's not my responsibility. I live there of course it's partially my responsibility to help fix what's wrong. Also if you are in debt it's because you aren't making the best decisions money wise. How old is that kid 18 maybe 19? I have been working since I was 14 to earn money. what has he done lay down on a couch in his parents house playing video game? They want everything spoon feed to them that's why he is in debt and he doesn't even know how much in debt he is that just shows he doesn't care.

I'm white and I grow up poor because my mom didn't want to work my dad struggled to take care of me and my to brothers I couldn't barely read or right in school and was terrible at math now I'm living in a decent neighborhood at 36 years old because I went out and worked to jobs at 40 hours a week a piece that's 80 hours weeks of work it was horrible but I did it because I didn't want to live like I did as a kid now I only work one job but might have to go back to two because of economy and gas and groceries can barely afford to eat once a day after bills I have lost 20 pounds in last month and I'm a thin person the problem in are country is not a race problem the problem is people are becoming more and more lazy and they want everything given to them that's not how the world works u have to work to get ahead in life no one likes to work but u do it because u have to in was hit by a car at 4 years old it fractured part of my spine i have arthritis because of it and the kind of arthritis I have people don't get until they are 70 or 80 some days I can barely walk because of the pain but I still went to work 80 hour weeks because I new I was the only person that was going to get myself somewhere in life my point is u have to put in the work urself to get ahead if u dont want to put in work u will get nowhere

The poor me I can't do anything because of white people is ridiculous. Tired of hearing this narrative. My grandparents were poor as heck. My grandma spent yrs looking for siblings that were put on the work train. Poor and Irish in the Virginias but they saved every penny and invested. Neither graduated high school but they built alot and passed to us not just money but knowledge and pushed us to not feel sorry for ourselves and to be proud of what we do.

But boy child said " why is it my responcability to help my community" he doesnt give a sht about anyone but himself. He USES the argument to enable his feelings and weakness. Litterally in college taking tbe same classes same professors but he coesnt have equal opertuity?

Move on.

So much complaining, if you dont like the country why live there? I dont see the need to constantly crying over spilled milk? Slavery happened a long time ago. Its the past! Forgive and move on! Talking and mumbling about it will still get you no where. Everyone got so much time and energy to think up so much hate and negativity. Why not use that same time and energy and think of how to make you're own lives better.
