That might have been changed actually. According to some translated interview I saw on Reddit. I at least hope so. It was a huge pain in the ass when they learned bad habits or their inclinations changed to what you didn't want from them because you gave them commands or used items.

I think leg length and arm length specifically alter things like movement speed/reach with weapons rather than hard height. The ranges might be somewhat bounded to your height though! Otherwise, you can totally make a hunter x hunter freak with long arms/legs or whatever as far as I could tell.
