I had the opportunity to listen to this song before it came out. My mom met them at an acoustic show they did at our local radio station and she asked if I could interview them for a paper I was writing. I got to go and hang out on their tour bus and talk to them. They're extremely nice guys and they played this song while I was there. Great song and awesome guys.

7 years away from drug addiction, this song is my life. Throughout our addictions, we hurt many of those around us. After the years I have clean, I still have some that are afraid that I am still the same person I was when I was using. I hope that in time they will see that the person I was, no longer exists. Change can happen if it is wanted.

This song just reminds me of how much I'm not who I used to be, who I've over the past few years, just the very folly we all experience. Changing to something new is easy, going back to who once were is whats hard. It's so hard to "erase the monster" we've made ourselves to be. And while some say to stay true to yourself, sometimes your change is who you are inside, just finally released. I know that's how it is with me...and I hate it.
