KnightmareFrame I think this list is way more meant for new players than it is for longtime hardcore players. For example a Warframe like Chroma can be categorized as very complex for new players because almost everyone of his abilties can offer multiple buffs depending on the colours you use on him and a lot of new players for sure have problems with this colour mechanic to understand how they can get his abilties to have the effects they want to use, also chroma needs a lot of investment like Forma and good lategame mods to make is damage and survivabiltiy buffs good. And also a lot of Warframes can be relatively simple to kind of understand what their abilties do and have them be very good in early game but also still have a lot of nuance and offer a lot of complexity in late game as well, I think Mag is a great example for this you understand what her abilties do as a newb like make a bubble that pulls enemys in and stuff like that and yet when you want to master this Warframe and make her strong in late this Warframe suddenly become a lot more complex. This is called being easy to learn but difficult to master, I really think you should see this list more from that perspective.

Can't say I agree. Looking over it, all of these seem accurate and how the frames are being utilized. I think those ratings are more to be seen as the capability of the Warframes than their absolute potential. For instance Excalibur is rated as pure Damage, but a frame like Gyre who is rated as Control would generally out damage him. But Excalibur can only do damage. He has nothing else going on. So him dealing poor damage doesn't mean that isn't his role.

People saying this is an over reaction is missing the point. In general no one is gonna see the roles here on this website. On the other hand, for a game that's been out for a decade, they could have at least shown that they know the characters in the game. These kind of simplifications are in Mobas and rpgs too, but there is power creep that changes the complexity scale and what certain characters can do. We know what these frames can do, and the average warframe player can scale and categorize them properly. This was not made by someone who plays warframe. Not all avenues need to be explored in terms of builds as that's up to the player, but if you're a new player who doesn't like looking up guides and sees this screen, they might take it as what these characters are capable of full stop.

The average player cannot actually scale these frames as most players do not do endurance runs or stress test. They do quick missions and that's all. They are literally taught the game is quick run through the map kill and leave. The only actual mission that "average" players tend to do for long are void missions for argon shards.

I agree with their roles DE gave for the most part. Although the difficulty rating sucks. This chart is to appeal to new players. You wouldn't want a new player to get overwhelmed with information explaining why "Ash" can be a damage frame. If you watch how much prep work it took to make his 4th work. Mass viral priming. If you used his 4th without any priming or helminth, we will know, it's not great. Even at its best, it's easily outperformed by many other frames. This is to simplify to new players in regular star charts how you might expect to play this frame when you have little access to resources and power ie. Helminth, archon shards, galve mods, and prime mods, and even certain weapons

There's a difference between how you play and how another plays... I play my Citrine with a Crystallize build simply because it's superior for team play. Koumei? Yeah, she's a better elementalist. They list these as such to make new players who know nothing shift towards certain content farms to boost their retention numbers and encourages plat spending habits early on. No hate or shade on that statement either bc its not like they are scummy about their monetizing in f2p time gate progression game, but thats the "why" of it with their listings. No one wants to farm ash or Oberon rn bc the mission types they are currently behind are aids, especially on crossplay. Switch and mobile devices shouldn't be allowed to host. I love having more players to play with, but their hardware cant even keep the game running in circuit or big dmg procs from gara or melee influence.

While I can agree that bounties can be annoying (even tho we have pity now, thank god) I don't agree with your statement. If we pick every frame released from 2022, only Gyre, Qorvex and Cyte-09 are bounty ones. While Styanax, Voruna, Citrine, Kullervo, Dagath, Dante, Jade and Koumei are not. If we count every warframe released since Gara, 1st warframe that came in with new bounty system, we count a grand total of 7 warframes that can drop as a reward from a bounty, out of 26 newly released frames.

And since the list is for new players who has never seen all warframes (aka basic star chart) yaereli is a dps warframe. Sure maybe it doesnt work on lvl 200 sp heavy gunners but for star chart 8k damage is alot and 1k slash is also enough. Helminths make it so any wf can be anything so it is very redundant. The list makes way more sense if you consider the wfs as unmodded

@@ceral1871 Either unmodded or very budget, rmember this is for new players without archon vitality and arcane energize. An unmodded warframe will literally just be the warframe, you can build all warframes to be tanks or good weapon carriers but if its not inherent in the abilities then the possibilities are endless (and therefor useless)

My question is who's searching info on warframes here? You just have to watch some prime time to get to this conclusion too as they litteraly have someone do builds for them and tbh not that great. Still it gives a basic unmoded idea of what a frame can do and gives a general approach on what a beginner should focus on by the role they have. I personnaly don't see why an advenced player would look at their site instead of testing in game for themselves the pros and cons of a frame or just wtach a video on yt even tho there's crap everywhere it's better than put vitality and redirection on all frames as beginner tend to do.
