This is a charity single, released in support of the This Time Tomorrow Foundation of Milwaukee, WI. The Foundation raises funds to help support families dealing with cancer and financial need (sometimes through Random Acts of Kindness (RAKs). Please stream this song on commercial sources, purchase this song, wherever or however you listen to music, all the proceeds will go to the Foundation. Or, you can donate directly to the Foundation at the link in the video description. For 16 years, they have been raising funds and asking artists to produce a version of this song. David Cook did considerable re-working of it to make his 2024 version, with musical assistance from Andy Skib (producer) Neal Tieman (guitar) and Nick Adams (drums). Obviously, the results are fantastic!

@@sendieloo Jesus not all record companies are evil. Tbh his output quality declined since he chose to become independent. He has so much potential, obvious example is this song. Or maybe he lost his muse idk his newer work just isn’t hitting as hard as the DCTR era.

@ I’d say all are evil. You’re entitled to your opinion though. They make money off of the artist, the artist’s catalog, their ticket sales, etc. there are more and more independent artists who are doing great without a record company behind them. If the trend continues they could eventually become obsolete. Not in our lifetime though. David goes at the pace he wants. He chooses the projects he wants and doesn’t want to participate in. If David is happy then his fans are happy for him!

Hmm, interesting video and new music lyrics. His sound has changed ALOT from 16 years ago but so has this world for worse or better. I will say though, this new song reminds me of seeing him on AI singing his version of Innocent by Our Lady Peace (which l never heard of before at the time) and really liked it. Probably needed to hear it also. It was at a time when l too had lost my Dad to Cancer in 2006 and at the same time wishing l was a dancer too, while raising my son and working on getting my career in a better place along with other family struggles and heartbreaks. 16 years ago, long time but still feels like weirdly recent. Happy recent birthday D.C. 2024. Mine will be soon also mid January. Peace and Merry Christmas.
