It's 2024 lol ... I recognised this randomly playing at the supermarket and immediately chucked in mah playlist ... man! we don't get good songs like this anymore. I went down the Diesel rabbit hole and didn't realise how super talented this guy is.

He’s amazing yeah? Been a fan since the 80s. Do you also know that he is Jimmy Barnse’s brother in law? They married sisters. If you watch Jimmy’s videos from the early 90s you will see Diesel playing the guitar. My personal favourite is When something is wrong with my baby a duet he did with John Farnham (my favourite singer) also he plays on Jimmy’s rendition of Simply the best with the wonderful late great Tina Turner ❤

I first heard this song in 1994 when I was 4. For the rest of my life I had the tune in my head. No google or Spotify or anything to put this tune too. One day in 2014 I was milking cows and this song came over the radio. I immediately stopped and was like “OH MY GOD!!! IVE BEEN TRYING TO IDENTIFY THIS SONG FOR 20 YEARS!!!!!” A huge weight was lifted of my shoulders and now it’s my favourite song again.

I love your story. I had a similar experience - when I was in grade 5 in 1981 there was a hit that I knew and loved, but then it disappeared. One day, 30 years later sitting in my chiropractors waiting room a song came on in their waiting room and I knew every single word. I rushed home to goggle it and rediscovered “you weren’t in love with me” by Billy Field - the version I had heard in the Chiro was from the Australian idol album, a remake by one of the idol contestants. On iTunes and youtube, I found more remakes and downloaded them all plus the original. There is something sweet about discovering a long lost song 😍 I couldn’t believe how happy it made me, and so I know how you feel.

This comment is unbelievable. I have the exact same experience. I would've heard this song in 94 when I was 7 years old. The tune has popped into my head countless times throughout my life but I had no idea what the lyrics were. Then, not 5 minutes ago, this song was part of an answer on Spics and Specs (an Aussie music game show on TV). Praise the lord. Also, great song! Worth the wait
