Holly, I’m a big fan of yours. I’m a 24 year gay male from California and I can relate so much to your experience at the mansion and being one of hefs girlfriends. A few years back I had moved to Chicago to be one of 4 boyfriends of a wealthy 70 year old man for… obvious reasons. I remember walking on eggshells around him and playing little Susie homemaker obeying all his rules and restrictions trying to stay on his good graces and at the time I didn’t notice his psychological manipulation tactics or when I did I’d pretend to be okay with it. Even after finding out he had taken advantage of me in a sexual manner while I was black out drunk I pretended to be okay with everything and even after I had moved out on my own it took YEARS for me to be honest with myself about the toll being one of his boyfriend had taken on my mental health. It wasn’t until after I started reading up on story though these past few months, that I had become comfortable enough speaking about it all more openly and process it with my therapist. You’re a huge inspiration. So thank you 💕

Like OMG.... My life has been so difficult being pretty and being kept. Boo hoo hoo. I've been there, done it too. I had my precious wonderful life partner. Sadly , he passed away. He was my all. Then I had two other great white men who took care of me after. Did I know things were expected. How to conduct my self. Were there fights, yes. Jealousies from both ends with all three. Heck Yeah! You went in knowing exactly what you would be expected to do. Don't cry . You enjoyed all the perks after you kneeled and raised those bottom legs. That's why you went in, in the beginning. Where am I at now? (No one asked but..) I have my struggles as everyone does. But, I am now independent. I have the only man in my life, my dog. Who runs my life. Chihuahua. A Latin Boy with a Chi hua ,go figure. And I am the happiest. Is it scary at many times? F yeah! But I wouldn't have it any other way. My own humble apartment in San Diego. My dog. My health. My struggles. And I am loving every minute of it. Thats why I have a major issue with holly and your story. At times , because those men were there for us. Yes, they weren't all perfect. But SH.T, ARE WE?! HELL to the N.O. , NO. But I still like Holly. Try to see ones point is what I learnt. Even if you don't agree.

I went through a similar situation like you, back in my early 20’s I was the holly of the group. Except I established my independence from the beginning. I was struck by that scene that made u nauseous as well. the reason your truth was shocking was because it was at complete odds with how he portrayed himself to the public and we see it 100% in the show he put on in this scene. What may have triggered you were the words he spoke not actually matching the reality of things. Telling everyone at the table he was the happiest he’s ever been and mostly because of you while never actually telling you that or showing you that gratitude himself, your reality being walking on eggshells and feeling like you were replaceable/ in a revolving door relationship. I can see why that would be hard to watch and relive. 😔

It’s funny because GROOMING is still not really common knowledge. But clearly HE was very manipulative and a master at GROOMING. Predators create normality around their sinister world. And on the outside it looks like it’s ok because no one is batting an eye. It’s all smoke and mirrors. It’s like the story of “The Emperors new clothes”. No one wants to be the one that points out it’s not right. Well done Hollie on speaking up of the truth. I’m sure now you can see clearly how HE did what HE did. And think of certain scenarios and shake your head on how you didn’t catch on earlier. But it could have been worse. You could have been the one that married HIM. Look at how far you’ve come. HE was good friends with Bill Cosby and Charlie Sheen. Say no more.

Kendra’s mom’s friend wanting to wrap the poster in panties always seemed like a set up to me. Because that’s how she magically found Kendra’s mom’s outfit, she just happened to put it in that same drawer for her friend to find later…could have been real I guess but seemed too perfect to me. If it was real then yeah, wtf? I would’ve asked Bridget I bet she kept stuff like that somewhere😛

"Casino" has always been my favorite movie too! You would make a great Ginger for Halloween. I don't think I have heard you discuss Brooke Shields ever?

The playmates of the 70s are honestly the most beautiful ladies . Think about it , makeup back then was gross. They did not have the same cheats available to them as woman today have. They were beautiful on their own.

Hi Holly! Were there any instances where you were told to dress a certain way to portray your "character" on the show? I'm curious because of how you previously noted that the three of you each had a distinct persona presented in the show.

I'm so glad you brought the theme song up. Wow, it screams "PERVERTED OLD MAN!" Every time I hear it, I shudder.

at 4:52 you mentioned the theme song! never thought of that until you mentioned it, but i think you are totally right! I heard that song for the first time on the Alvin and The Chipmunks Movie when i was a kid in the 90s, it was so innocent then lol.

Holly, have you kept in touch with any of the staff from the mansion? I’d like to know what they’re up to now
@ellie_envy3 жыл бұрын
Okay, so something weird I noticed (that was different from the dvd) was they put in a LOT more dialog and extended scenes for one person than anyone else... All the other scenes stayed the same. Not sure if this is the case for the other episodes since I rewatched most of season 1 on KZbin and they're dvd version. Just something weird I noticed. Also, they combined the first two episodes of the season.

Really? I didn’t compare them! Which scenes were extended?

I loved this show so much, it was often very awkward and cringy to watch but as it was “TV” I just thought it was fake. Watching your KZbin videos makes me realise that it was more real than we maybe thought. Thanks for the videos Holly.
