News flash ...the 3 of you AEW hating morons here in the comments (Godot, Eric Smith, Constable Kennedy) thinking Wardlow and/or Hobbs career in AEW is over, literally means absolutely nothing. 3 know nothing neckbeard cucknette fans who dont even watch the show dont matter in the grand scheme and neither mans career is over or hurt. I feel like Jim Cornette’s biggest strength now would be the development of up-and-coming stars. If somehow he could have something akin to OVW, but without dumbasses saying “it’s low budget” when it’s a wrestling school, wrestling as a whole would be much better off. This wasn't just bad this was a complete character assassination of Wardlow. At this point, he should just ask for his release and sit at home like Miro and Andrade. You can't come back from this in any way and look good. Plus using a "car breaking" to make him look even more like a loser before the match. This also doesn't help Hobbs at all. Not only could Hobbs not win on his own, but he also had to get help from QT Fucking Marshall one of the biggest jobbers in the company. Plus he has to be put into another pointless faction. This is without even talking about how little value the TNT Hot-Potato has now. I just feel bad for Wardlow he should have been pushed to the moon after beating MJF. But once he nearly lost to Pockets the writing was on the wall of what Tony really feels about him.

AEW doesn't seem to know what to do with big wrestlers. They all just get treated poorly. If the wrestler is the size of Riho, AEW loves them and they get forced on the audience every week (Garcia, Yuta, etc). If the wrestler is the size of Hobbs... you've seen what happens. Miro, Hobbs, Joe, Wardlow, Archer, etc... they all get the same fate in AEW.

Jim illustrated my, and a lot of people’s, sentiments about the booking of Wardlow better than any of us could and he and Brian illustrated why ending the match with a QT interference angle is bad for all parties involved. Tony Khan’s bad booking habits keep getting rewarded and he learns nothing from them because Meltzer awards him with “Booker of the year” all the time and people inflate his ego by telling him the show kicks ass. If the show works, it’s in spite of Tony’s booking.

I'm interested to hear Jim and Brian's thoughts on QT saying that he's been presenting himself as a Tony Soprano-based entity this whole time. Turns out those bowling shirts weren't some kind of heavy set Charlie Harper thing. In what way was his presentation on this show supposed to tell us ANY of that? I'm genuinely curious about that.

This speaks more to how good MJF is than anything else. Wardlow is just another meat puppet without him.
@aegis8d737
@aegis8d737 Жыл бұрын
Then every good wrestler with bad booking is a meat puppet. They mostly lack either the ability to convince Tony to change their awful booking or they lack people teaching them how the business should work. Mjf did his homework, talked to experienced people and watched good matches and interviews. Not everyone has that drive or that intelligence. The bad booking and lack of good advice however is the greatest problem since Jim proved how its possible to develope good wrestlers even if they lack MJFs intelligence.

This is one of those cases where going back in time would be necessary. That's some great booking I just listened to. I wish Jim Cornette would've booked them if he had the opportunity. Fans would've been wanting to see a Wardlow vs. Powerhouse Hobbs match after months of no encounter whatsoever. That would've been sick.

I believe Tony listened and realize that he had something special with Hobbs and wardlow but all he knows is to match his action figures together with no buildup or story. I really hope that both of these men's contracts come up within the next year and a half. As much as people hate Vince McMahon the WWE system would work wonders for these two guys.

Coming in... I KNEW Hobb had to win. The fans were hot for him. Plus you can't have your "face of the Revolution" lose. The question was.... How does Wardlow now get buried AGAIN? So they swerved him. Ok fine... But the camera shots sucked. You could see the crash pad. WWE would never shoot that. They never should have had Wardlow pinned. A Triple Threat where Wardlow wasn't pinned, get the title off him, then Wardlow moves on to the main event. Goes after MJF. This match wasn't needed. But since it wasn't done that way this was all they could do. Literally booking themselves into a corner. Tony Khan could never do a Bloodline storyline because he can't put the coke laced Adderall down for 2 minutes.
