Dude I live in Japan, and I can easily and confidently say that the Bucks were not over in NJPW. Any "pop" they might have received was because they were in proximity to Kenny, and regardless of how Corny feels, Kenny was so fucking over here, him and Ibushi were molten lava hot. The Bucks? Not really

The story of the match was FTR, without their manager, being goaded into playing the Young Bucks' game and losing. In reviewing this match, Cornette was goaded into playing Russo's game rebooking it. It's next-level Macheviallian art.

I don't get it. One week, AEW exposes the business. The next week, AEW should book FTR/the Bucks in a match that exposes the fact that pro wrestling is staged fighting by having one team work as if they're intentionally trying to sabotage a match? Has AEW broken Jim Cornette? Whats going on?

@@TheSportsfan35 Not necessarily. If they're getting heat as part of a larger storyline, and it's obvious that this is going somewhere, the people will follow along and at the blow off the heat can be settled. I get the impression however that they're trying to get heat from the wrestling fans just for the sake of heat, and they do it by doing things the wrong or hokey way, to get heat. At least that's what it seems like to me. MJF for example was praised by Jim Cornette, until MJF did the one thing that would even get Jim blazing hot in disgust. For what purpose? How is he going to redeem himself from the dinner? It's really hard to predict at this point, and if his particular gig is deliberate and he recovers from it I'm impressed. I'm not sure about the others.

I thought it was a good match, the bucks were not doing endless amount of dives or Canadian Destroyers, they were not FTR holding each other so the bucks could do something ridiculous. @@Hellwolf36 His name is Excalibur. Jim's childish nicknames are stupid. The announcer DID explain it. Tully being banned was a major part of the hype video before the match. Tully came out because 1) He thinks the decision is horse shit and 2) He's still their manager. While he can't be at ringside for the match, he CAN provide advice to them on the way and be defiant about the decision as much as he can. A few weeks ago Tully tried to break Matt Jacksons ankle. Of COURSE the Bucks would lobby to have him banned from ringside. Honestly, if Jim can't pay attention to the story that's literally right in front of him I don't know what to tell him. I don't think it's honest. Dude is deliberately being obtuse.
@blankvalleyfilm
@blankvalleyfilm 4 жыл бұрын
@@SmarkAngel If a gun shows up in a movie then you know it will be used. Everything that's introduced in a story should have a function. It's basic writing 101. Since Tully was banned from ringside and he ultimately never plays a role in the match then he has no reason to be physically on camera because it's setting something up that never pays off. That's what Jim's critique was and it completely makes sense.

AEW just plainy cannot understand heat and psychology. Imagine if FTR had kept the belt longer then when The Bucks would have won it, it would have been special. All the things he mentioned how the match could have played out would have been great. This is how you do a storyline. AEW cannot book stories. It's just meaningless matches.
