I grew up in Upstate NY and one winter there was so much snow that the snow plows completely covered out mailbox and we couldn't find where the mailbox was located. My mom had taken a picture of the house from the front with the mailbox in view and my dad and I tried to use the picture to determine where the mailbox was located. We got our shovels and the picture and dug for an hour, then said fuck it and went inside as we couldn't find the damn thing and would rather wait for the snow to melt in a month or so than to continue to dig for that damn thing.

In rural Montana we can get in and out in just about anything so we don’t worry about our driveway unless it’s really bad and then we plow it with the four wheeler. Meanwhile the last four years a bunch of people with a lot of money have moved in around us and they pay to plow the road when there’s not even enough to cover the dirt. 😂 They keep that on through the beginning of November and then they leave for their houses in warm weather.

Let me explain something to you Yankees and Canadians. Yes, you get a hell of a lot more snow than we do here in KY. Here's the thing though. You have tons and tons of the equipment to get rid of the snow on the roads. So, yeah a foot of snow doesn't even cancel school sometimes. An inch here will because they plow city streets and that's about it so if you live outside the city, you're on skates or 4x4s which school buses aren't. So, if snow falls at all, people flock to the grocery to buy French Toast (Milk, eggs, and bread) because you may be at home for 2 days with just an inch or 1.5 inches on the ground. You all would rightly lose your minds if that happened there.
@russellzacharias35353 жыл бұрын
An inch or two doesn't even rate clearing the snow by the city, rarely by property owners who own the shopping malls let alone private parking lots.
