How can Tony Khan expect anyone to care about his Women’s division, when he suddenly decides to book two women, we hadn’t seen in about a month, in the main event of his top show? I don’t blame them, I blame Khan for sending them in there cold. He did the same thing with Deeb and Shida. Shida returned and attacked Deeb on March 4th. Deeb literally had one match between then and the street fight, and it was on Dark: Elevation. Deeb and Shida literally interacted once between then and the street fight. That is your best hatred feud in the division and you treat it like that?

Not just that, signing a ton of random dudes and having "dream matches" with old Japanese stars hurt women too. Skye Blue is hot as shit lol. Why not blend her, Storm, and Hayter with the more established women like Deeb, Shida, Britt. They're so "this is real wrestling" that the women aren't allowed to be hot and accentuate their strengths even if it is just looks. I like Deeb but she's boring everywhere but in ring. Same with Shida although I think she has a more unique look. They could have Shida against someone like Keira Hogan and Deeb vs Toni Storm so you have nice mix of wrestling and look. Mercedes is more of an intense heel so you could have had her feuding with Skye Blue.

Just saying the show doesn't have to be full of workrate in both divisions especially since only 3 women are actually good in ring plus can't just do flips to compensate for lack of in ring psychology like the men can. I can actually watch women without thirsting (I occasionally watch WNBA) but I am not a fan of generic men's workrate matches so I damn sure don't wanna see boring women's matches. Imagine they actually tried to do his father's old gimmick with somebody like that. It would be a catastrophe. I get that people feel sorry for him and want to support him because they saw "DSOTR". But he just doesn't have it. You can't build a wrestling career, or any kind of sustainable show business career, on pity. People feel sorry for the mediocre singers on those awful talent shows on television too, when they get overly harshly criticised by some pompous bellend, to the point that it makes them cry. But they don't want to listen to them again nevertheless. His father's name is all he has - and he can't live up to that name. All the wrestling veterans who advised him to please seriously consider doing something else with his life when he started out, were right. Unfortunately! Jim can waffle about "bloodlines" all he wants, talent to be a pro wrestler is not genetic. Physical abilities - to some point - are, but athleticism alone has never made anybody a good pro wrestler, let alone a star. There's a reason why Dean Malenko isn't known as the greatest ever and Rick Steiner or Bobby Eaton were never on top as singles wrestlers.

@@Queen01113 Initially, I thought of this too. The only way to salvage this would be the slow decent into the ‘Loose Cannon’. However, after thinking about it some more, Pillman’s Sr’s Loose Cannon gimmick worked because it wasn’t a gimmick. It was organic. I don’t know if Jr has that in him. If he doesn’t, it would fail.

I mean what Punk said sort of applies to Cornette even more than Easy E. We may enjoy Cornette but his podcast is popular mostly because he shits on modern wrestling and a lot of people typically older folks agree with him. Bischoff is basically the guy who says wrestling lacks stars and cool while people like Punk think it lacks workrate and realistic promos. Punk compared himself and Danielson to Hall, Nash, and Hogan which was delusional. NWO was cool. In ring guys like Benoit, Jericho, and Eddie could be appreciated but that's not why WCW was beating WWE. WWE countered with Rock, Austin, DX, Foley, Taker aka guys who were cool and could tell a story. Punk and others like him would argue not featuring Malenko vs Jericho ironman matches is why WCW went under but that isn't true.

The women's match was absolutely abysmal. To be fair though, both Deonna Purazzo and Mercedes Martinez are pretty good wrestlers. But there was ZERO reason this match should have been the main event. Um why is there even such thing as an interim champion?! Dan Lambert needs to go away now. If they continue to have those three feud with Sammy and Tay, count me out. The irony of Lambert's stupid promo was he says is originally from Baltimore but is so embarrassed by Baltimore, he now says he is from Miami. A few months ago, when he was feuding against Jericho in Miami, Lambert said he was embarrassed to call Miami his home. Sheesh. This was an overall awful show. The only thing that saved it was Wardlow beating up all the security guards.

They are good but putting them in main event with literally no fr build up or explanation was dumb. Plus people are probably used to women's matches featuring thumbtacks and tables. Disagree about Lambert. He's good on the mic and Sky is bad about being a heel. Page is good on mic tho so maybe Lambert would be better suited for another heel tho. Same with Paige Vanzant. She is about as automatic a heel as it gets why not have her feud with Thunder Rosa.

Like did we need to see The Ass Boys & The Acclaimed with Scissors or too much of Pillman Jr on the mic or the Women's promo before the main event? the latter 2 went WAAAAAY Too Long & chipped away at what was there left for Mercedes & Deonna to work with (And they tried to make it a believable fight to win compared to the mess last week with Scorpio & Sammy) And I agree yes the AEW Street Urchins want blood Thumbtacks & Tables & Mercedes is someone who is best just straight up wrestling (and I think there should be a Pure Rules match with her as she was talking about on the AEW unrestricted podcast, but the question can TK book that proper?)

I'm officially over having ROH matches on AEW television. Give them Dark, give them Elevation, give them something, but enough with having ROH title matches on Dynamite or Rampage. If I wanted to watch ROH, I'd watch ROH. I hate to say this, but ROH is becoming an albatross around the neck of AEW, and maybe it was a mistake for TK to have purchased it. The only interest I have in anything ROH is FTR being their tag champs, and even then, FTR is presented as AEW talent wearing ROH titles. They're also proving that *they* should be AEW's tag champs instead of Jurassic Express, who no longer mean anything as the tag team titleholders. Speaking of titles, the FTW title needs to disappear - no one cares about it. Also, the women's division is obviously not strong enough to have two titleholders. Have Rosa or Deeb face Jade Cargill in a match to combine both belts and be done with it.

I was there live in the Building and trust me most of the show was such a wetfart. It felt like such a mess that people started shit chanting, at least in my area. The general consensus from the people I talk to in the building was that it was the worst show since going back on the road.

@@britishbulldogsvsthehartfo5677 I mean it wasn't all bad but it was pretty subpar overall. I was at ROH Final Battle 2021 which was on the same building and that was a much better experience. I also went to WWE events and WWE even when the product is not the best have a much better audience experience than my time with going live at AEW. With AEW it lies solely on if the matches are good or not because their live event personel was bad. There was nobody enthusiastic about selling your merch and there was only one merch table with overpriced shit. Of course the Gold standard in my honest opinion was TNA back in the 00s. Don West was a master at selling you stuff and making you have a good time at the events. He had all kinds of deals and promotions that made you want to go back at a TNA taping. AEW needs someone like a Don West to make the experience of going to the shows special.

Easly one of the worst Dynamites to date. Bryan Danielson not only had to carry Moxley and Wheelie yet again but he carried the only good rating of the show. AEW didn't even have the beloved "Big Bang Theory" Lead-In. Not this time they couldn't even rely on a Star Wars Lead-In on May the 4th. Between Hangman pretending to be a tough guy, What ever Jericho thinks he's doing, and that cringe-worthy House of Black segment, they deserve the low ratings. On top of that Tiny Khan made the Main Event of the ROH Women's championship involving someone who has barely been on AEW TV and someone who has never been on AEW. The crowd didn't care or even want to see it. He tried to bury ROH and Impact yet again and just buried his own show. How can you put a title match together involving two people that barely work for you? The best part of all as bad as Dynamite, Rampage was even worst and it involved two of Omega's favorite toys and less than 300k people saw it. Yes, it was at a different time because of the NBA but still. Now he has to hope and pray his two "Jokers' for the Owen Hart tournament can save his ratings.

Probably worst episode since pandemic era. One observation about AEW is they definitely have more in ring action but the wrestlers are allowed to just have matches. CM Punk vs Goldust, Dax, Moriarty, and soon to be Silver are treated as love letters to "real wrestling" fans. Yet in WWE you're automatically buried unless you're going for world title. It's why Cody could be high profile midcarder in AEW but has to beat Roman or he's "misused". Once the fed ded support wears off a lot of these talents are directionless or sharing time with 30+ people. Deonna Purazzo is good but the match, opponent, and placement did her zero favors. Deeb is a great wrestler but is bland as shit so having her on the mic isn't a good idea especially against Thunder who is more of an emotional promo.

I said Thunder can only do emotional promos such as being the "underdog" overcoming the evil heels like Britt or Nyla, even Jade. Deeb actually liked by most fans because of in ring, she's a heel literally just because. To elaborate that means Thunder as well as Deeb need someone good or at least better than them to have live promos with. It's the equivalent of having Darby and Jungle Boy cut live promo on each other. Edit, I never said one was better than the other at anything. But since you mentioned, Deeb better wrestler and better at being bland. A bland bad promo isn't better than a passionate bad promo lol.

When Jim said, "Wardlow is the complete package" and then listed all his attributes, naming everything with the notable exception of Promo/Mic Skills, it crystallized where I differ from Jim/Brian in what makes wrestler/wrestling great. To me, a great promo (which Wardlow isn't) is the most important quality of a total package. I'll always put Pipers, Savages, Hogans, Rocks, Jake Snake, Austin as greats, whereas exceptional ring technicians like Bret Hart, Benoit, Dynamite Kid, etc don't have matching mic skills, and are a tier below. Jim, as a former mouthpiece, sees the in-ring performance as the top attribute, as a manager can always do the talking.

I've only been watching AEW since last summer, so I can't speak to the past, but this was easily the worst episode of Dynamite I've seen by far. I can't believe we're this close to a PPV with absolutely no interesting stories, rivalries or angles (beside MJF) to speak of. I also can't believe that I'm probably going to order it anyway.

The best match on Rampage this week was RIHO vs the magical girl Yuka. Yes really. It was the best match on the show and they actually got the crowd into it. The women's division is dreadful in AEW but I actually don't think its the Japanese girls fault. Pitstop, The bunny, Anna Jay, Tay conti, Ruby soho, nyla Rose. They are all not good enough for television wrestling. The alien chick could be something if she wasn't with the job guys and an alien.

What is going on over there, it sounds worse than reality TV. Matt Hardy can actually still work a solid singles match because he hasn't done nearly as many high spots as Jeff and hasn't done even half of the drugs Jeff did. His style has actually been way slower since around the late 2000s. Granted he's taken bad bumps since then but he can easily wrestle singles matches But Jeff has done way too much damage. Jeff should've started slowing down his style around the early 2010s. Like, when he was in TNA he should've stopped doing as much. He should've broken out a Swanton every now and then but he should've use a more arm drag, suplex, slam type style of wrestling. Now I feel that he shouldn't be in the ring as much. He should be in tag matches where Matt can cover up for him since Matt is more capable due to his slower style and having less injuries. Say what you want about his broken/woken character but he's way smarter when it comes to prolonging his career. He isn't doing the crazy spots nearly as much as Jeff is and that's why Matt has aged more gracefully than Jeff in my opinion.

Idk man. Matt may have less wear on him but he has looked physically worse including how he walks. Matt was pretty bloated sort of like Jericho. Jeff at least looked in good shape but just chooses to do the things that got him popular even though he isn't as good at it. Matt has the benefit of having chants and storyline to make up for things. Jeff really doesn't.

Plus, months ago he said on social media that he wants to get into better shape and would since he knows he's better. He's way more dedicated than say, Jericho.

It was a good match especially considering the age and wear the guys in the ring have. Can't name any more in AEW because he's almost never had singles matches in AEW. Had some good Singles matches in WWE during his last run. Quite a few actually. Matt Hardy is a guy who can still go but it should be on a part time basis, only doing matches worth his time. No Dark stuff. Once in a while on Dynamite and doing storyline stuff for a lot of the time, and having big PPV matches. He can do it and has even recently said months ago on social media that he wants to get into better shape because he knows that he's better. Matt's dedicated, which is something I can't say as much for guys like Jeff Hardy or Chris Jericho, who've grown complacent with their performances. At least Matt wants to do better.
