The story I remember about Paul Burchill was, that Vince McMahon either vaguely knew that pirates were hot at the time and wanted to capitalise on that buzz, or just randomly decided he wanted a pirate. So that decision made, the creative team gave him wrestling's version of Jack Sparrow (and Burchill said himself that he made sure to present a very Depp-influenced character) but Vince McMahon saw it and essentially shat all over it, because he wanted a traditional pirate and didn't know of, or understand the Jack Sparrow type of pirate.

I’ve always thought Vince had more in common with his Grandfather, than his Dad. Vince Sr was a pure pro wrestling guy, but Jess McMahon was more about the overall entertainment. While Jess was the one who originally started promoting Pro Wrestling over 100 years ago, he also ran night clubs, athletic clubs, concerts & music events, BOXING, he owned pro football & baseball teams & pretty much anything he could put the McMahon name on.

Seeing old, grumbling Vince now (which i think he exaggerates to a certain degree to still play some character lol), these stories make me a lil sad that he's nearing his expiration date. And love him or hate him, you know a big part of pro wrestling dies when that time finally comes.

What a lot of people don't realise: This may very well be Vince's last decade with us, at 75 years of age as of the *beginning* of this decade. If Vince truly is Superman, he may be around another decade and live to his 90's. But planning for the worst, Vince may kick the bucket by 2025 (God willing that doesn't happen, for karma's sake.) Anyone saying "Vince should go away"... That may happen sooner than later just by the natural process!

There are strong rumors, supported by evidence that he will be selling the WWE, and possibly moving to Florida. If you know anything about how ltd companies work you'll know all of the telltale signs of sale that WWE have done over the past 2 years. Combine that with Vince selling his house and Linda living in Florida. I wouldn't be surprised if Vince retires shortly after Wrestlemania.

@@24magiccarrot as someone who works in M&A....no not even close. Most of what they got rid of was redundancy, and wasting money on talent. They still have over 200 wrestlers and tons in the PC. Forget where I read it, but Shane apparently pushed Vince into the pool once. Everyone died laughing, except Vince,.who was described as ready to kill Shane. Shane got out of Dodge & stayed away for most of the day, till Linda convinced him it was safe to come back.

That happened to my gym teacher once but he wasn't pushed. I didn't get to see it since I wasn't in his class nor had him as a teacher that year. I had someone else for my gym teacher. I am upset I didn't get to see it. Most people hate him and I do mean hate him because he was a jerk and a fatass. Since I didn't see it I can't say for sure what happened but the kids that did see it all said the same thing and I'm inclined to believe them because how can you make that up? He went to sit down on his chair but it broke and he fell into the pool. I don't know why his chair was that close to the pool since it never was when I had him. I'm assuming the kids all laughed at him. I would have.

My favorite Corny-ism is when he gets a minorly frustrating question and he goes something like, "We-h, ehmmhSHH..." Like he starts to say "Well", then there is like a frustrated exhale as he begins another yarn. Lol
