A P.O. Box is a great thing if you are living in apartments anyhow. You can have packages sent to them so there is no chance of it being stolen, also if you get a new apartment you don't have to worry about changing the address on everything. Everyone in my immediate family (except me) has worked for the postal service at one time or another. My father worked for U.S.P.S. since his early 20s, and retired after being Postmaster of a small town for like 25+ years. So despite all the stories, I believe the post office is very helpful when you need some assistance.

I hope the USPS staff in Colorado is more accommodating than they are here! They can't even keep my mailbox door properly shut, which means a lot of my mail gets rainy wet! Welcome to Colorado! I really love it here. You live in a prettier area than me, close to the foothills. It does snow a bit more there though. A warning about your tag sticker; tag stickers get stolen a lot here so a license plate cover and or putting them on with superglue is probably a good idea.

Number plates furnished to be attached: (b) A person shall not operate a motor vehicle with an affixed device or a substance that causes all or a portion of a license plate to be unreadable by a system used to automatically identify a motor vehicle.  Such a device includes, without limitation, a cover that distorts angular visibility;  alters the color of the plate;  or is smoked, tinted, scratched, or dirty so as to impair the legibility of the license plate.

If Colorado is anything like Minnesota, it is much cheaper to get a handicap placard rather than handicap plates. So, if you are trying to safe money, it's the way to go especially since (again, if Colorado operates the same as Minnesota) if your condition is permanent you pay once and you get new placards when the old ones expire free for the rest of your life. Just something you might want to look into. Virginia (who has MS) Clearbrook MN

You know, I came up with a Rowdy video just by chance. And I saw the thumbnail and I said to myself, wow, how sad to have no legs... so I clicked the video thinking "meh I am going to watch this guy, maybe feel bad for him and then just forget about it"... 2 months later subbed and having watched a ton of his videos, I practically have forgotten that this great guy has no legs. I also realized just how fun he is to watch and how great he is at living out his life. This realization just made feel bad for jumping to conclusions. This is unfortunately due to all the people who would (and still do) take advantage of this. Even with this process in place, some people still manage to get tags they don't really need or deserve. I know some one at work that has handicap tags because they have trouble walking, because all the smoking they do is messing with their blood flow. But the doctor can't force them to stop smoking, so they get handicap tags. :(

Colorado law the first time. I have them and my doc just had to sign a form every year. This year they just sent me an affidavit to sign and have witnessed. You can also have permanent handicapped plates.

Rowdy probably only needs a prescription because his case is clear. Some others of us have more forms & get exams because disabilities are sometimes more hidden. It's a document for proof for the transportation department records--a quick or a slow document. It's called 'visible', I believe.
