There is something emotionally deep within this song. I literally choke up when I hear it sometimes. It's like I'm hearing something beyond what I'm actually hearing. The amount of talent that came out of that British prog rock group Genesis is absolutely incredible...From 1985 to 1987, Genesis, Phil Collins, Mike and the Mechanics and Peter Gabriel all individually dominated the charts in many countries in some way, shape or form. Absolutely stunning. And this song in particular is especially haunting and dark, I love it! I was too young when it came out, but listening to it again now and watching the video makes me go like "wow"... this is creepy, really dark stuff. Frequently still played on the radio here in Germany.

I was born in the 80’s, grew up in them, and was raised by two military men. My grandpa who served 2 wars and dad 1. I would often be told repeatedly the very same concepts in this song, plus many many more some people would deem conspiracies so I’ll save that.
