TALK TO ME MOVIE REACTION - THAT WAS DISTURBING! - First Time Watching - Review

Welcome to our first-time reaction to Talk To Me. This horror film was directed by Danny and Michael Philippou who you may know from their KZbin channel RackaRacka. To make the leap from KZbin short films all the way to Hollywood level cinema is already impressive but even more impressive is the fact that their debut full length feature "Talk To Me" is perhaps the best horror film we've seen in a long time!
"Talk To Me" takes us on a terrifying ride. It takes the concept of the Ouija board one step further and in such a creative way. The mysterious embalmed hand in this case serving as a sort of gateway to the paranormal.
The Philippou brothers have shown us time and time again they know how to film their stunts but man! This horror film absolutely blew our minds. From the cinematography to the attention to detail you can tell these directors not only know how to keep the tension but they can deliver to us a chilling experience without relying on jump scares .
Not to mention the amount of practical effects that in combination with the vfx make the film feel more grounded and authentic. Oh and we absolutely loved those crane shots during the more intense sequences!
The performances in this film are outstanding, Sophie Wilde is fantastic as Mia. Her portrayal of grief and loneliness was done with such sincerity, we were engaged by her performance the second she popped on screen. Even better yet her performance as Mia being possessed by something was jaw dropping.
Joe Bird as Riley, is another actor to keep an eye out for. We have a feeling we will be seeing more from him as well after his performance in this. Truly a great performance from everybody involved from the main cast to the supporting actors.
