Watching all of these behind the scenes just made me appreciate the show even more than actually watching the episodes. Major props to the actors as well, It's extremely difficult for a series to find their footing on a first season let alone the first episodes, and then add language barriers for the director on a complex and difficult to understand script on top of that.. I'd be scared senseless going into the editing room wondering if we captured everything we needed and with the right intention. Hats and pants off to all of ya

Eventually I will get my home-mates to start watching this show. I did this with Vikings, and they were hooked. Somehow dark shows do not appeal to them and I understand. But for me most of the times it's about the craftsmanship of storytelling and the technical and artistic execution of creating a movie/series. If you add up soe amazing acting then I am hooked, most of the time.

This first season got great reception here in the US; I don't know exactly why they canceled it?! They always cancel the best shows after a few seasons here in America, despite popularity. All of my favorite shows from the last ten years or so have gotten canceled after only a few seasons. Everyone I know who saw this show loved it. What the hell, Netflix? Networks in America just assume that if it makes you think, we can't handle it. And then we get stuck with nothing but season after miserable season of crap like Two & A Half Men.

Sadly everything is slow in this show... You wait and wait for an answer, an element of understanding that does not arrive. But at least it's better than Dark more main stream

The elements of understanding are actually there from the start. Just look at the names of the ships and what they represent in Greek mythology, the scarab, the books in Maura's cabin, and the German song which is sung in Eyk's memories. The writers of this show love their classic literature. It was Ariadne and Geothe in DARK, and it's Plato and Prometheus in this one. The plot is not exactly predictable, but you can glean a lot from the details given.

You could watch the English dubbed version but then many scenes don't work properly anymore. Back in the day most people didn't speak foreign languages so I loved the idea to let everyone use their mother tongue. It adds realism and confusion between the characters.

@@axelvetter I totally agree. I was kinda just making a joke lol. I get that on the ship groups of people speaking different languages is a big part of the story. But I guess I was also surprised in these interviews that the actors also spoke really good english lol Having said that, I used to switch over to dubbed english when I watched anything with subtitles. But I realized that it takes away from the inflections and emotions that the actors have in their voices and that loses some of the realism of the story. So now I'm watching "Dark" and have watched "Fauda" and I've gotten used to reading the subtitles. After a while I forget I'm reading because I get so invested in the story 😊
